Yeah, closing the bars is one of the biggest factors and people reduce their social activity when the cases spike so there is probably a limit to how high the cases can go. That's a really good reason to have accurate numbers and to publicize them heavily. My guess is cases are flattening and will begin to decline. Deaths will continue to rise for a bit as the people who are dying today likely got infected 2 to 4 weeks ago. And if schools open next month we will see another spike a few weeks after they open (where they open).
I think everyone is in favor of accurate numbers. The real trick is knowing how to determine the accuracy of the numbers.
You can’t make this stuff up. CDC: “Here are the guidelines for when to reopen” Trump: “F that noise. Liberate. Reopen” Death: “Thanks” Trump Spokesperson: “The states didn’t follow CDC guidelines for safely opening back up” Trump: “Squirrel” MAGA Nation: “AOC, Portland, Statues, Law and Order, Flags, Graffiti, Operation Legend, So Much Winning” Did I miss anything?
9-year-old girl dies from coronavirus. She is the fifth, youngest child to die in Florida 9 year old Putnam County child covid fatality
That must be fake news because I keep reading about how children do not get sick, if they do get in sick in defiance of non-science, it is not serious. If it is serious in defiance of non-science it is not deadly. Even if it were deadly, they cannot transmit it. Thus, in the face of all of that non-science, surely this child was just mis-diagnosed. The president says so. (note: this entire post is sarcastic and ridiculous and loaded with non-sense.....just like certainly elected officials.)
Latest guidance about testing from Donald "Yogi Berra" Trump: “The experts are saying it’s a good thing to do,” he said later. “So, I’m okay with it, if they want to do it. But I — again, it makes us look bad, but they say it’s good. I don’t mind looking bad, if it’s a good thing.”
updated stats from world o meter as of 8 am EDT. There were 16 states with a decrease in active cases. There were 12 states with just 1-2 deaths and 6 states with 0 deaths.
For those who think that "death rate" is the only aspect of Covid-19 infections that we need to worry about, here is another story. A 27 year old reporter who battled the disease for nearly 3 weeks and it cost her part of her colon. She may or may not have diminished lung capacity for an extended period of time or permanently. It is staggering to hear people still call this "the flu" or even "not as bad as the flu"??
Not sure if anyone has mentioned, but this has been an awesome job Oklahoma of continuing to collect, collate and post this information for everyone. Thank you for all of your (additional) hard work on this board!
Interesting look at how the two political sides view the virus: Republicans And Democrats See COVID-19 Very Differently. Is That Making People Sick?
For many that is true, but they never get the time from the press because it doesn't sell. What does sell now are people who not only had it but had it bad, but survived. For many I've heard about and you can find them on Youtube, it was pretty bad even if they didn't go to the hospital. Usually 8 days of Hell, where your body aches so badly, all they can do is curl up and lie still. No ability to eat or drink, which is why the average Covid patient loses about 10% of their body weight. But there are a % who have long-lasting symptoms that span weeks and months. One NBA player came out a few weeks and said his doctor told him it may take a year to be back at 100%.
Yeah, lay off the juice. Death is getting better business with Diabetes than Covid 19. Why wait for the crumbs when you can have the whole turkey?
