So a study in a place that has a very low occurrence of covid showed a low occurrence of covid in school children. That doesn't tell me much. Germany, population 83 million, with about 500-600 new cases per day by mid to late May. Florida, population 22 million, with an average of about 12,000 new cases per day right now. If Florida had Germany's infection rate from late May, we'd be having about 150 new cases per day right now and we wouldn't be having this debate about whether we should open the schools.

If I were given the choice of contracting the flu, or Covid 19, I'd take the flu every single time.

Yeah, that chart is totally bogus. As I said earlier, he's comparing a year of flu to 4 months of covid. But also, his flu deaths aren't just flu deaths, they are flu and pneumonia deaths. Those 2 things do overlap, but there are a great many cases of pneumonia that aren't caused by flu.

Now that the study shows kids don’t transmit the virus like adults, you try to change your argument. Kids are going back to school. Some will stay home. That’s up to the parents. My kids will be going to school even with the concern of the flu/pneumonia being high.

That's not what the study shows. The study shows that the incidence of covid in school kids is similar to the incidence of covid in the general population, at a time when the incidence is very low. That doesn't translate to the situation in Florida, where the incidence of covid is literally nearly 100 times higher than it was in Germany in late May.

No, I've had the flu a couple of times in the last 10 years, and it sucked. But I'd take that over covid, which has the potential to suck much worse.

The biggest traitors are Trump and the enablers in his base and government. What is really amazing is that you would post something like this without even realizing that all you mentioned was loyalty to Trump and the GOP and you never mentioned loyalty to the country once.

@FeeBart thinks bacon is an agree. I know because I got plenty from him when I started a thread suggesting that Grantham should be in the pass coverages Hall of Fame. But I don’t want to hijack the thread.

totally different circumstances so not comparable. Flu with no social distancing and no shutdown, covid with shutdown and social distancing. Like comparing risk of accident on local road driving 30 mph vs on arterial road driving 90

Nope. Terrible analogy. Very similar circumstances. Another person not liking the data so they try to make up something to sound plausible.

I think you're saying: "Imagine Covid 19 with nothing done to arrest it." We know what a bad flu season looks like, and that's bad enough. We don't know what an unimpeded Covid 19 pandemic looks like, and I don't ever want to find out.

So much for the good news I posted on Tuesday. The most recent 3-day increase data is awful. World cases, world fatalities, and U.S. cases skyrocketed during the last three day. U.S. fatalities are way up.

Nope. Laughed at your terrible attempt at an analogy and then watched a movie with the kids. Didn’t even think about the useless drivel you wrote after that.
