No, like NYC, Minneapolis, Seattle, Philadelphia.

Your examples are all places that reopened bars and other businesses around that same time.

Oh I see, having hundreds of thousands of protestors didn’t do anything more than “a few cases” in your opinion. Got it.

Still loving that people want to justify not wearing masks because some protestors didn't wear masks. It's super cute, like when a 5 year old says they shouldnt have to wear clothes because their 1 year old brother isn't

You remember when they were going ape shit because a couple hundred people showed up to Jax Beach? The beachgoers appeared mostly to be socially distancing from ones not in their own household. But this is ok.....

You realize wearing a mask isn't the only component, right? Social distancing is just as important, if not more. Your mask isn't 100%. It helps, but it's not a replacement for social distancing. Mask or no mask, putting yourself in a crowd of 8,000 people who are shoulder to shoulder during a pandemic is idiotic.

Who’s justifying? I’m calling out a reason some places have spiked. Not the only reason for sure but not insignificant at all. But the poster who was complaining about people on the beach causing increases in Covid doesn’t seem to be making the same case for the protesters. Hypocrisy.

I have not read on this forum, a single poster give a free pass to posters for not wearing a mask, or social distancing. Even so, I have seen the cry of "hypocrisy" from the right on this. Can you refer me to those posts please? Shouldn't a Pub call out Trump's rallies ( or sad attempts) in the same vein? Actually, is it not worse that the WH does not lead by example, in fact, didn't the Trump campaign physically remove social distance stickers from seatbacks in Tulsa?

They were early in the pandemic when Florida didn’t close their beaches right away every lib around was ripping DeSantis. I haven’t seen any liberal rip the protestors. The only thing that maybe was said was “yes that could be a small factor in increases”. That’s a big difference.

So, you're on record as saying the protests were idiotic. Baby steps. The difference in the Trump rally and the protests though is that Trump held his rally somewhere that it was legal to hold a rally of that size. We have protests going daily in Louisville that are in clear defiance of ordinance regarding public gatherings during the pandemic. But I'm glad you agree the protests were idiotic. My issue with them was that the government did not say a word when people were in violation the size of gathering ordinances. Correct me if I am wrong, but the Trump campaign broke no such ordinances. Also, plenty of Dem politicians have bashed Trump for having a rally during the pandemic even though it was legal, but again, not a word about the protesters. And that is what fuels the skepticism on the right. Can't fault them.

Masks won't stop shit. It prevents infection by reducing the amount aerosols and the distance they travel. Also, if all you do is wear a mask but you share a water bottle, well you deserve to get Covid-19. Most protesters didn't do anything but violate every single rule of social distancing. They held hands, in some cases hugged each other, drank of the same water bottle, never washed their hands in between each contact (which in a typical protest means using up a 4 oz bottle of hand sanitizer), and touched their faces on average 1,000 times during a protest. NYC mayor idiot banned everything except BLM protests, yet the outbreaks we are seeing now are directly tied to those protesters.

Clear double-standard, clear as day and yet some people wonder why there are mask truthers. It's because they're telling me I can't go to a Trump rally or church, but protesting with a violent, Marxist hate group is cool.

Many on here, myself included, were worried about protesters spreading the virus. They should have all been wearing masks, and while many did, I'm sure the virus spread because of the protest.

Still, with that said, outdoor activities are less risky than indoors. Air flow outside is mostly uni-directional and is the virus is less likely to spread to multiple people as it would indoors, especially with A/C. Anyone who protested who didn't wear a mask was being irresponsible, and the number of people not wearing one is why I personally didn't join in with any of the protests.

I'm also a believer in two wrongs don't make a right. Just because protesters weren't 100% wearing a mask, doesn't give anyone, on any side of the political aisle, an excuse not to wear one. Especially indoors when you are going to be around people who do not live with.

Speaking of straw men... Nothing? DC Mayor: We Have to Be Concerned About Virus Rebound

Many warned of the risks, many urged people to use caution. There were protests all over Europe as well, somehow Europe managed to not have cases rebound and run out of control through their populations...

    Proud of her:

Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser said Sunday she was very concerned that the protests in the nation’s capital and elsewhere could provide fertile ground for a new series of outbreaks. Many of the protesters were wearing masks, but there were no attempts at social distancing.

“We’ve been working very hard in these last eight to 10 weeks to not have any mass gatherings,” she said. “As a nation, we have to be concerned about a rebound.”

But how long did you have to google to find that? All I can really speak for is what we see here in Kentucky and we have a governor who was literally going to stalk people going to church, write their license plate numbers down and issue citations. He said this. No, not him personally driving to the churches, but that he'd direct the local sheriff's office to do his dirty work. Dude hasn't said a word about protests. And the feeling I get is this has been the most common experience around the country. YMMV, but I didn't see many headlines talking about warnings from governors about protests. Hence, again, the skepticism.
