I guess I've been doing it wrong. I didn't realize this was a contest. None of my posts here are about "winning". It's been about sharing information/trends and maybe, just maybe, influencing a few to take smarter actions so we can beat this damn thing. We're all in this together.
Nobody has said that "shutting down" will be free of its own implications, but those are unknown and unquantifiable at the moment, unlike the current virus we're fighting. Additionally, if States would act under the recommendation of science, these "shut down deaths" would be mitigated as we could return to something more akin to normalcy. In Maine, where I live, we've done an outstanding job of controlling the spread and many of the important things listed in your article have returned. Most notably, elective medicine. I just saw my dermatologist last week after my April appt. was cancelled. If I lived in FL or AZ I wouldn't have much hope of seeing my dermatologist anytime soon.
We should not come close to New York in deaths. We have better knowledge now how to treat patients with low oxygen levels, are aware of the clotting and circulation issues, and we don't have the density of New York. There should be infections with lower viral load now, too. New York's early seeding is why cases and deaths came so quickly. Hospitals were overwhelmed before the Javitz Center and ship were opened. All because the level of infections were unexpected. And density contributed to viral load of the patients affected.
The association has promoted a range of scientifically discredited hypotheses, including the belief that HIV does not cause AIDS, that being gay reduces life expectancy, that there is a link between abortion and breast cancer, and that there is a causal relationship between vaccines and autism. It is opposed to the Affordable Care Act and other forms of universal health insurance.
That's been my go to response when people are like "those rioters and protestors weren't wearing masks." How about you hold yourself to a higher standard than them....
those guys are getting it done. great clip. Maybe the Lincoln Party could become our viable third party that represents the 60% of us trapped in the middle
good luck getting that crowd to address that question. I am still waiting on them to tell me if death is the only adverse impact from being infected. Perhaps they should ask Cain as he sits in ICU during his second week of being hospitalized.
Really sad what happened in Tulsa. They sent advance teams and had Secret Service Agents infected and then held an indoor rally while discouraging masks. And the supporters are unskakable. All, they lived their lives, right?
pretty much what I have been saying. that is why I am not for locking down the state again. Mask should be worn. Not even sure they work but even if they work a little, it’s worth it on top of staying 6 feet apart.
Deaths aren’t the whole story. And absent reducing spread, there will be too many deaths, even with a lower fatality rate. And the economic reality is that we will suffer financially anyway as the disease spreads. Who is going to travel to Florida? Europe will not even let people come here.
Attack the messenger and call me Chicken Little all you want, but the Maricopa County (Phoenix) ME Office Morgue just reached capacity. They have an overflow capacity used for emergencies, and are requesting an additional 4 refrigerated trucks from FEMA.
How long do we have to wait until they are “resolved” and what is the definition of a “resolved” case?
935 deaths today. So, Just keep posting your sick messages mocking deaths. Like your chicken little meme. And your advocacy of this president and his handling of this. I want folks who read these threads to know exactly who Trump and his supporters are. You, who said there would be only 1000 cases, and so far, only missed the prediction by 3 million people. Spreading the talking points. Everyone needs to see the lack of empathy and evil driving policy in this country. So thanks for letting everyone into that world.
