I don’t know about the rest of you, but I stopped looking for masks when I noticed her:

    What major steps??

UK, France, Spain, Belgium, Sweden all have higher deaths per million than the US.

Take away the shit show job NY, NJ, Mass, and Conn did to protect the elderly and where are we then?

Oh by the way, only those from Hong Kong and Macao were allowed to come in. Guess how many cases total for both ever reported.

1,631 cases... total... since Feb 3... I am SURREEE there were plenty of covid sick people from there coming into the US. /end sarcasm

Trump should tell them now that the heat will just disappear.

The European countries got it under control. Spain had 3 deaths yesterday. Italy had 17, Germany had 5, Belgium had 5. The list goes on. Clearly they are doing much much better than we are.

What you are failing to understand is much of the rest of the country dropped the ball, and is presently going in the wrong direction. The northeast and Europe got hit early, hit their peak, and started getting it under control only with extreme measures.

Florida is on its way to being NYC, or even worse if we don’t rapidly change course. We are basically ignoring the lessons learned in NYC and Italy at our own peril. Allowing the virus to run rampant will not end well.

Disgraceful cherry picking and false equivalencies.

Sudan probably had a lower death rate from polio last year than NYC in 1910. That's how contemptibly vapid your response was.

I assume you eagerly await the challenges of equivalency and will openly disregard the corrections by others.

NY has it under control now too... after 32k death.
    Spain after 28k deaths.
    Italy after 34.9k deaths.
Oh by the way, they all had crazy lock downs too.
yup perfect examples to go by.

This has been the message all along. Perfectly said.

Hopefully, with enough repetition folks will get it.

Certainly I saw some masks(maybe 50%) but you seemed to miss that many weren't (which was contrary to your first comments). Just trying to help you out as you admitted you hadn't seen much video and had no first hand knowledge of protests.

As for Cain I can't comment if he was within 6ft of people and not wearing a mask or not. CDC says masks for when 6ft social distancing can't be maintained. If he was up close to people and wasn't wearing one I guess he's a fool.

Florida will never by like NYC because
    1. We are treating it much better than NY did (partly because we know more)
    2. We did a better job of protecting the elderly
    3. Its by a large margin mostly young healthy people testing postitve

NY started spiking March 22nd in new cases with over 5k that day.
There first day over 300 deaths was March 28th.
They didnt see under 300 deaths in a day until May 1st.
Oh and NY has 12 straight days with over 800 deaths per day.

Florida saw its first day over 5k cases June 24th.
Our first time over 100 deaths was July 9th.
We have seen days well below 100 in-between that already.

Is the virus waiting to get more serious or something or did we just do it differently here in Florida?

    Cherry picking?

So using countries with a much smaller population to only show that the US is not doing worse than EU countries (of which i was just replying to someone else who brought them up) is not proving my point?

Yes, they are good examples to follow. They got hit hard before they could react, but they did what it took to get the situation under control. Really the exact opposite of what has happened in Florida. They learned, Florida and much of the US did not.

Ya except Florida said lets protect those who we know die from it and try damn hard to keep the hospitals not overwhelmed.

Hospitals are struggling with staffing but have not hit the oh shit button yet. On top of that, they are about only 50% covid sick.

When it came out that he was sick, there was a photo on the tube of him sitting in the Tulsa crowd with a grin on his face and no mask.

I doubt that he's grinning now, and I don't know what he's wearing on his face. I hope he recovers.

I guess the physics of airborne vs droplet transmission and particle size has changed in 3 months.

Just to be clear I'm not saying that people out and about close together shouldn't wear masks.
The question is how much does it really make a difference....
It is all about the science.

The lockdowns are how they stopped the spread.

The deaths in those places should give you a pretty good idea of the deaths about to come to Florida in the next few months, we might even top them if we keep up the stupid.
