Why don't you care about the flu deaths the same as this?

I've never died from the flu, and the flu doesn't have me and other folks self-isolating to go on living. Your question is a distraction because that's what Trump and his supporters do.

I am far more worried about the vacsular damage, kidney damage, lung damage and brain damage being caused by this virus. No one has any data on long term quality of health impacts for all those foolish teenagers or twenty somethings who think getting infected is a joke.

While the flu is potentially deadly, especially if you are older, the nature of the virus, the course the infection takes and the potential for lasting effects are pretty well understood. We know ZERO about this corona virus. Not sure why it is so hard to understand that for a percentage of us?

I think it's a combination of things, like denial, anti-science, willful ignorance, a totally selfish concept of freedom ("no one can tell me to wear a mask"), fanatical religion (as one pastor put it on behalf of himself and his full-house congregation, "If God wants me to get COVID I will, if God doesn't want me to I won't"), and the Trump cult of personality, in which Trump's constant lies are the truth.

That is a disgusting comment when you read about 11 year old children, 30 year old men and 23 year old men dying and refer to them as "non-consequential".

We get it, some people are pissed because their way of life has been inconvenienced to downright disrupted. People have lost jobs, will lose homes and savings wiped out.

However, if all of the pissed off deniers would have just put a damned mask on, stopped throwing parties like everything was right in the world and would have continued to respect a deadly virus, we would not be where we are right now. We would look more like Europe where many countries are more than 50% back to some semblance of normal life. Unfortunately, here in America we are "proud of our ignorance" and therefore many, many more will suffer due 100% to the ignorance of their fellow Americans.

Led by the POTUS, who is so ignorant he said (and says he still hopes) the virus will just disappear (since ingesting bleach won't do any good). Trump takes ignorance to a whole new level.

What could go wrong!?! I guess the writing was on the wall for this move when Trump cleaned house at the HHS and appointed his people. Finally we can put an end to this pesky pandemic now that trump controls the reporting of data. Case WILL magically disappear and be down to zero in no time!

So why could the generals provide leadership that protected their troops and families that POTUS could, or did, not?

I would call myself middle-of-the-road. Ever heard of it?

"Well I never died or got sick from Covid 19, maybe you should and quit being selfish."

That looks like plain English to me.

Trump controlling the flow of information— and moving it from the agency that historically disseminates information. What could go wrong? With this administration’s long historical record of withholding information and falsehoods, we know what they are doing this.

if you’re going to quote the cdc, their latest estimate on the death rate is around .65%.
