Apparently it might be illegal to point your guns at pedestrians for fun. Who knew? Summary: Police executed a search warrant for the guns in question and have them. Right wing sites are comparing to Germany Nazis right now. This is a local recap... https://www.kmov.com/news/st-louis-...cle_b815652e-c321-11ea-83ca-e7f071b7e021.html Ammann said there are many protections for the couple in Missouri, including Stand Your Ground, Castle Doctrine and Open Carry. But Ammann said a key is the manner in which the guns are handled. “Those protections would not allow you to aim a gun unless there was some threat that someone was coming towards them or attempting to get inside their house,” he explained. update:
Pedestrians? The article references “protesters” and I thought that they broke down a gate to gain access
Protesters were in a private street not in their yard. Here’s one point of view.. https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/06/29/st-louis-protest-gun-mayor/?outputType=amp Although Missouri has among the loosest gun restrictions in the nation, legal experts said it’s unclear whether the law would back the McCloskeys’ claim of self-defense or their critics’ claim of improperly using a firearm to intimidate. Even residents living on what they declare to be private streets cannot act with impunity, said Eric Banks, a former state prosecutor and St. Louis city counselor. “'Castle Doctrine’ does not extend to the street,” Banks told The Post, referencing a law that gives people certain protections to use deadly force on intruders to their home. “I defy you to find one picture of the [protesters] on the grass. They were not putting those homeowners’ lives at risk.”
They're doing them a favor. With the way that gun casually dangled from her fingertips she'll either shoot herself or her husband next time. And apparently Mr. and Mrs. Rambo have a long history of being embroiled in some sort of conflict, often concerning property rights. Portland Place couple who confronted protesters have a long history of not backing down
Litigious attorneys? Isn’t that kinda like saying a personal trainer has a long history of strenuously taxing the bodies of others ?
they hardly look like they were ‘having fun’. As a strong 2A advocate I would say their muzzle and trigger Discipline was fairly poor. But not uncommon for people in heightened anxiety. I was training someone recently with minimal experience, and when I gave her a few tasks to saturate her mind she began to stand on her tip toes and raise the firearm in the air as she fired. People do different things when stressed
Well, the city councilman dared anyone to produce a picture. Feels like if you saw it on TV you should be able to call his bluff. This will be good for traffic here. “Famed Too Hot poster outs liberal councilman’s lie”.
Considering the fact these people broke down a gate to enter the community, no telling what the "protesters" would have done if the 2 "right wing Heroes" weren't standing in front of their home armed. I know from my perspective, I wouldn't want to take the chance of finding out.
Other houses on the street were not bum rushed and they didn’t stand in their yard with guns pointing them like newbies. #fail.
IF a large group broke down the gate to my neighborhood to walk by my house to one of my neighbors, I think the first thing I would do is call the police. Can’t imagine they’d expose the mayor around the corner to a long wait time......
When you don't have to worry about attorney's fees it must be fun to bully people using the league system. These people seem like real winners....
After the fact. The reality is as i said.. You wouldn't know what the "protesters" would do. And you also don't know how the whole gun incident affected the protesters actions. It's all a matter of conjecture. Crazed mobs caused over 400 million damage across the country in the first week of protests. I wouldn't want to find out if i was next on their list.
Pedestrian = a person walking along a road or in a developed area. That would include protesters. Breaking a gate and going on to private property, if that’s what happened, is trespass. One can’t point a loaded gun at a trespasser unless one has a well founded fear of harm. Not liking protesters or their message does not in and of itself constitute a well founded fear.
We’ve all known people like this. They’re just wired differently and make the world a less enjoyable place. They are angry and dangerous and deserve to have their guns confiscated.
No. The firearms were seized as they have evidentiary value. Because both of these people are lawyers, I suspect the weapons are being submitted to Missouri's version of FDLE to test fire them and otherwise make sure they are operational in an abundance of caution. Normally they are submitted after the arrest. That is a necessary element of proof. My post from the other thread. I suspect this is at least what wifey will be charged with:
