I know like 6 with confirmed cases. One is in the ICU he's 50 has terrible diabetes BS avg 300 and is 80# overweight, he hasn't worked in months and hasn't been out much.
since you are a doctor you can speak to this. who has the better chance of transmitting covid 19 to the most vulnerable section of our society, ie the elderly and sick, 6,300 known infected patients, or nursing home staffers who you have no idea if they are positive or not?to me the answere is simple, known over unknown, cuomo is just doing more covering his backside, deflect the blame, cuomo the " teflon " govenor.
I agree, lets see what happens in NYC in 6 weeks, they may not have as big a bump due to the fact that so many have already had it, I read upwards of 40% in NYC are expected to have antibodies.
Not to mention asymptomatics are unlikely to transmit the illness. Now I'm sure there are people with URI(runny nose etc) symptoms who have ignored it and went on about their way(that's a problem).
Definitely the unknown, if you KNOW a person is positive you take precautions. If you don’t know, you might not take any special precautions. At my sisters hospital they had a patient test negative for the virus twice, so they had them in the non-COVID unit. Turns out this person was positive upon a 3rd result. Result? Over 20 nurses on that floor were Covid positive, and several other patients were infected probably by those nurses who were unaware they were positive. One of the patients died in a week, another died two months later after requiring icu and ventilation for 2 months. All because of one patient that was “unknown” positive.
Fashion Show at the PUB city, we have elected you to MC the event which simply means you supply the beer.

but their case count was so low that they do contact tracing and isolation to keep the outbreak under control. With so many active cases in the US right now we do not have that option. We have done the exact opposite of what years of planning told us to do while the EU has done what we suggested but failed to do. It worked there. What we did hasn't worked.
and antibodies last for weeks or maybe months. this is not a 1x and your done thing based on everything that I am reading.
