Those hospitalized for a longer time have a higher chance of long term effects.

“A lot of times, the post-recovery chest X-ray and CAT scans of the chest will show areas of scarring that may never really completely improve. That’s going to have to be taken as a potential sign that they won’t be able to get back to the lung function they had prior to the illness,”

A church in eastern Oregon defied the order about not congregating in large groups.

Oregon’s biggest coronavirus outbreak yet is linked to Union County church, state officials confirm

Other Coronaviruses are colds. This one is a pneumonia. It has a spike designed to latch on to lower respiratory cells.

3rd lowest number of deaths today since the end of marcvh 363, again the downwards trend is looking good in this department.

Alaska is the second best state as far as death rate. They have only had 765 cases and just 12 deaths.

It sure seems like it, cases going up in southern states and dropping in northern states. (except Hawaii)

    northern MN
The current spikes sure seem to be isolated to SE and SW states. Biggest increases are in CA, TX, FL, GA, AZ, NC, LA, OH, AL, & SC. Exactly one northern state there.

Least increases in IL, PA, MI, MD, VA, MN, WI, MS, NE, RI. Exactly one southern state there. Perhaps it's a matter of population density.

Biggest increase states avg population density = 18.7
Least increase states avg population density = 19.3

The difference is negligible. So why are southern states experiencing bigger increases?

makes sense, the 3 most populous states, and the 3 with the most cases lately are fla, texas,California. also got to believe 3 of the most densely populated states.

I stated in the florida forum that maybe the virus was losing some steam, while cases are up, hospitalizations and deaths are down.

Isolation, lock downed borders kept virus out. Have to have test 72 hours prior to arrival or test at airport upon arrival and then supposed to quarantine until clear test..4 days+/-. Most cases now from people imported to work at cancerous.

Seward is like a ghost town tonight. Was mostly full with locals over weekend. 225 lbs of halibut (3 fish between daughter and I) produced 118 lb of fillers. Was a great way to spend Father's day.

    Time to target some salmon

What states have cases up, and hospitalization down? I agree it appears that the number of deaths has gone down and that is almost certainly because we have learned how to treat the infected patients better and we are giving them a better chance at fighting off the virus despite not have any real treatments. However, N Carolina just set a new high for hospitalizations and the only real hospital in Central North Carolina here in Greensboro just had open up an "emergency ICU" ward. I know that Arizona is struggling with the exact same thing. Hospitalizations keep rising in both Central and South Florida as well from what I have read. So, not buying your claim.

The faster a country required masks, the fewer coronavirus deaths it had: study

Nope the president of the United States knows better than all of these idiots with PhD's and MDs. And, our nation's most ignorant will just continue to follow his lead as most other countries with actual leadership and halfway educated citizens will start to pull out of this morass. Not us baby!! Making America Great Again.....one infection at a time.
