Updated stats from world o meter as of 8 am EDT. This had not been updated since Saturday. So in 2 days there were 17 states that had a decrease in active cases. There were 15 states with 1-4 deaths and 11 states with 0 deaths. I also updated the number of tests that I just do on Monday. We have tested 8.4% of the total population to date.

The death rate per million continues to slowly fall.

We are 90% off the highs. Not sure why that isn't worthy of celebrating. I think most people would like to know we are 90% off our highs regarding deaths. But that won't be talked about by the major media because good news doesn't sell. I didn't say we won the battle, but damn if I'm not going to be a little bit happy about the news.

It’s not worth celebrating because it’s worth is negated by record setting new case counts on the very same day. We know deaths lag cases, so what exactly is the point in celebrating 90% now when two weeks from now we could be setting records with deaths again? I’ll
Hold my applause until this thing is legitimately in the rear view mirror, not staring me in the face pointing and laughing at me.

Because the average age of getting Covid-19 has dropped significantly. The younger population will not lead to more deaths nor more hospitalizations. As long as we keep the elderly isolated we shouldn't see a huge uptick in deaths.

This is not true in my area of Florida. During our shutdown, it was the high school, college, and young adults who were on the beach without masks and not social distancing, and partying in the Condos along the beach. School was out.

It has already been reported in Hillsborough county that 70% of new hospitalizations are 55 and younger. They may not be dying but are racking up huge medical expenses and are being left with long term medical conditions from the virus.

Well, if someone is worried about having medical bills, they can invest in a N95 masks and wear it and practice social distancing, their odds of getting Covid-19 are very rare.

No, they can't. They are impossible to find right now in amounts that would benefit any large portion of the population.

I don’t think any of us can say “They are being left with long term medical conditions from the virus”?

Some may, but they is too inclusive.

I know 3 people who have been hit with Covid. All are over 55 and none of them have any “detectable“ damage.

Yeah. Goalposts continue to move. Went from saving and not overloading the hospitals to nobody can contract the Virus or it’s a failure. We hear that masks work. Which is great. So wear a mask. I still have a hard time understanding the argument being made that We slow the spread if someone ELSE has to wear the mask. Why? If it works wear it. Put it on your loved ones. Put it on your kids and parents. Why do you care if Joey jackass has on a mask as long as you and your loved ones do?

It's been covered a thousand times, at this point, you have to just own that you have the inability to understand.
Here’s How Wearing a Cloth Mask Helps Fight the Spread of Coronavirus – Health Essentials from Cleveland Clinic

Well, you got the jackass part right. But to answer your question, see same link above. Again, if you don't get it by now it is because you either don't want to or you never will.

It's not difficult, it helps others and it will get the country moving in the right direction quicker. If we continue down this path of cases trending up in this country, I am troubled by what will happen with the economy and to millions of people in this country.

Of course it works. I never said it didn’t. I wear one depending on where I am or what I’m doing. I just don’t care if someone ELSE has it. If they want to seemingly endanger themselves have it. But I also don’t think drugs or prostitution should be illegal. If you want to not wear a mask then don’t. If you want to shoot up between your toes. That’s not up to me to make your choices. Would it be better for society for people to not do a lot things....sure. But that’s what liberty means. You are completely free to make terrible decisions. Just don’t ask me to pay for them

When Joey Jackass decides to go in public around people, while not wearing a mask, he exposes others to the virus if he has it and doesn’t wear one. JJ is probably out partying and having a great time not social distancing. He’s the type of person that increases the odds of spread.

What Joey J does is important to people around him.

It keeps it from spreading. Please research this. Listen to doctors and labs that spend their life and resources studying this. If you are, don’t listen to pundits or politicians that pursue good ratings.

If I’m not mistaken, and I have been many times, the mask protects others from the wearer if they are infected, not so much the other way around.

Person number 1 has a mask.
    Person number 2 doesn’t.

Person number 1 is at risk of contacting Covid from number 2 who is not wearing one.

Person number 2 is safer because number 1 is wearing a mask.

    That’s what I’ve read.

I think ATL is talking about if the people wear the masks that actually protect you from others (N95, KN95, etc).
