Trump says we have won. They don’t talk about the virus anymore. Even stopped social distancing because the visual of social distancing at WH pressers sends the wrong message to voters.

I hope not. My synagogue is having services in the Sabbath (today). But outdoors with masks and distancing and limited numbers.

Let’s say there have been 100,000 looters. I have no facts, but that’s not stopping you, so let’s run with it.

.005 percent of 100,000 looters is 5 arrests. I saw five arrests in one five minute broadcast with 20 or 30 looters.

Stop with the complete and utter nonsense.

Yes, there were places where looting took place with no law enforcement on scene as they were spread out and over taxed. Your supposition however is a total crock of crap.

100k only? How many countless stores got robbed across the country. Turn on the tv and put something on besides CNN or MSNBC. I’m sure it’s the same people doing the looting across each city. They aren’t arresting any of them.

I guess these people bought online and are just picking up their stuff...

I can pick any city where the protests are happening and link a video but it’s a waste of my time.

going to be interesting to see if there is a spike in cities that had rioters, oops, i mean peaceful protesters not wearing masks and not social distancing. where are all those calling out ordinary people for not doing those, guess its ok if there are 2,000 of you doing it.

By that same token how many police interactions happen every day? How many are bad? I acknowledge accurately counting the 2nd question might be difficult given potential cover ups but I don't believe it is a great number which Also doesnt discount the significance of any individual occurrence.

I don’t have that information. I do understand math and the poster was saying only 5 arrests per 100,000 looters. The sole purpose of my response was to call out the hyperbole.

We can have a conversation where everyone agrees looting is bad. And we can want looters caught and punished. And we can support peaceful protestors. We can agree that the police do an awful lot good.

Most of the board is probably generally on board with those statements. Some people make hyperbolic statements that are outrageous to generate an argument. It’s tiresome when either side does it.

It isn’t a discussion. It’s just wanting to have a fight.

I agree and I haven't commented much because I am genuinely exasperated by the lack of nuance being discussed in this matter. There are so many layers but so many are emotionally charged by memes and news sources that aren't interested in objective discussion. I have my own experiences and opinions that don't alight with the major forces getting publicity right now.

I tried math with same poster yesterday, I don’t think he understands how math works.

I'm sure there will be increased numbers because of it. Just like we are already seeing increased numbers in a lot of places due to the relaxation of social distancing.

So are most houses of worship led by leaders more concerned about health and safety of those they lead than making political statements.

I didn’t go today. It started raining when I was going to leave. Wish I had gone because that was it for the rain. Prayed at home.
