I haven't dug deeply into the numbers recently, but I'm curious about the case fatality rate. Early on I was thinking that perhaps the higher rate (compared to the flu and to H1N1) might have been associated with hospitals such as in NY having to deal with an overload of cases. But even as cases and deaths have dropped for a month now, the cfr has remained pretty stable since the end of April at around 5.8. I need to look into this and find if some folks have written about it.
Already answered a long time ago. Also intimated by what I wrote recently. I'm not sure why you bring up Sweden. Unless of course you wish to pursue this again as a binary issue.
Updated stats from the world o meter site. Yesterday 13 states had fewer active cases than the day before. Also, 8 states had 1-2 deaths and 13 states had 0 deaths.
Had posted in another thread, but this week’s sojourn. They finally opened Up county parks again, this is a both 10 minutes from my house, a bluff overlooking the Potomac.
Was in the MedExpress and they offered a quick/free CoVid test. Quick and easy. Blood test came back negative next day. No covid in my NC house yet.
That looks beautiful. Only somewhat related: looks like you are about 2 hours from one of my favorite hikes (1 hour of that drive is in the mountains). Old Rag Mountain near... well near nothing, maybe Nethers. Highly recommend. Not easy but awesome.
yep, have done Ole Rag. Will probably tackle it sometime later this summer or fall. You have to get there crazy early to get parking and it’s really crowded, especially now. Maybe it will get better as more parks open up and people start going back to work a bit. This was from the summit at Old Rag last time I went.
Do they? Also look at the county by county lines and notice that nearly every county is dropping or holding steady. Almost no red in the final column for any county in Georgia and that is with testing increasing. Georgia Coronavirus Map and Case Count
Other than the last two days, they havent. And that is likely a testing thing. Georgia is actually holding firm and dropping over the extended time since they reopened certain parts. Because the death rate in Texas is falling which may tell us that the rise in cases is due to testing. We won't really know for a couple of weeks.
I think a Lot of the states are fudging their numbers a bit one way or the other which more or less balances out, but Texas is the one state I truly question as legitimate. Their case to fatality rate is significantly lower than every major state, even with them having done far less testing. Just doesn’t add up, especially with the zeal and vehemence that comes from their leadership about all this.
The death rate in Texas fell from May 19-May 26. It has been flat for the last 7 days. That corresponds with the takeoff in cases, which started May 26. Texas Coronavirus Map and Case Count
I cant keep up. I thought deaths were always 2 weeks out, so how are the corresponding with the takeoff in cases this week? Deaths are falling. Will that change? No idea. But deaths in Texas are falling in the grand scheme since the reopening began.
IHME is not the best tracking website (they haven't updated the data since May 29). Why did you switch to it from the NYT, which you just used for Georgia, and shows Texas with a flat 7 day moving average for deaths since May 26?
