Constitutional rights can be uncomfortable. I was just saying if they were within those rights it can not be domestic terrorism.

To call what goes on in Michigan part of their "constitutional rights" is dubious at best.

It is, however, part of Michigan law. No laws were broken. But to me it seems it's inviting a serious situation. Just takes 1 nut inside the building, and within that crowd there were probably several potential nuts looking to start a war.

And THAT might have crossed the line to domestic terrorism. But abiding by the law...even a law you and I both feel is dubious...can in no way live up to that term.

You are being dismissive. C'mon Tilly. Put yourself in their situation. If folks showed up at your gig and watched over you with rifles, would you merely suggest it's "uncomfortable?" I might agree with you that this does not constitute domestic terrorism, but I see no place for you or anyone else to defend or dismiss the behavior. And they brings up a point about how your stance has seemingly changed from defending to dismissing.

If those numbers are correct, then that is good news. Cases as a whole have not gone down in Florida though.

If there were no new cases in Knoxville, then yes, that is good news. And if they have truly relaxed distancing there and people are gathering as normal, then they are very lucky to have no cases.

I said the behavior was dubious and made no defense of it other than in regards to one term.

Yes I would be concerned and quite nervous....but deep down, isn't that why 2A exists...to scare our government straight in times where the citizens fear tyranny?

And you and I disagree with their fear, but those folks do fear it.

dude, debate my POV all day, but I would challenge anyone here to go back and find anything I have posted that is not accurate. Germany went to net increase in infection rate this week. But again their ability to test and trace will likely keep it under wraps.

Infection rate rises in Germany as lockdown eases

Germany not alarmed by infection rate rise

It's just trolling. Stuff like asking why no liberals have liked a particular post that has good news in it is trolling. The reality is less distancing will lead to more cases. That doesn't mean anyone wants to see more cases. But some like to troll.

The only false claims I've seen are from those who are pushing for reopening -- like that one Georgia chart that keeps getting bandied around. It's straight up false.

Those articles cite estimates based on 3 days worth of R numbers.

The actual numbers show no increase.

I wouldn't call it "domestic terrorism" without any overt act, but it was definitely meant to be threatening to those lawmakers. A bad law allows them to basically do terrorist-lite activities in a perfectly legal way. It is really an absurd scene.

I mean... you realize this is the Michigan Militia, right? You realize Timothy McVeigh was Michigan Militia, right? It's hardly a leap to think the worst when you are talking about a far right militia group with such a history showing up armed at a state capitol, and there are reported death threats against various lawmakers. I don't think there's many "very fine people" involved there. Not saying they are all McVeigh, but there is definitely a lack of common sense to what they did.

I'm guessing you know the post I'm talking about. It's a few pages back.
