The White House doctors are out there making decisions for people without knowing their medical histories and against CDC guidance? That seems highly unlikely. Occam's razor is that they didn't want the visual of Pence walking around without a mask and the business leaders wearing masks, rather than White House doctors acting in a clearly unethical fashion.
I mean that is interesting. My wife and I own a couple inverstment properties. If that is $5K each, I would take it and invest the coin into one of the properties that is currently not complete. It is a very small space and that small amount would finish it. It was something we have delayed finishing. Rental returns here are through the roof in a college/beach town. We may even make that one an AirBnB. I would make way more off of that property than the $10K over the next 25 years, and would likely never regret a 3 month delay. Sure some will blow it on a couple flat screens or an ATV, but many would genuinely invest it and make way more off of it then letting the government hold it until retirement.
What have you seen from Pence as VP that makes you think he cares about Americans more than making Trump happy?
But what reason is there for that side of the coin? Why would the White House not want Pence to wear a mask when they know a firestorm would arise? Again, not really disagreeing with you and I think he should wear a mask. I just don't get what there is to gain by telling him not to, outside of medical reasons.
I see the opposite of Trump as a human being. Al Gore was a good human being who defended a bad human being too. But I think both were way better people than their bosses and if allowed to lead outside of those shadows their decency would prevail.
And either way, whether we spend it wisely or poorly, the economy benefits. In fact, the more poorly it is spent, the more likely it is to pass through multiple hands before finding its way to an investment and the more the economy benefits.
They didn't just tell him not to wear a mask: they told those meeting with him not to do so. It has to do with Trump and his messaging. He refuses to wear a mask (he wasn't wearing a mask when it was required by the mask factory that he visited), so Pence can't. And since Pence can't, those that meet with Pence can't. All to avoid embarrassing visuals like what happened at Mayo.
With the virus showing up in the White House, how ironic would it be to find by contact tracing that Pence, Trump actually spread the virus to maintain the image?
That would be sad indeed. I understand the anger but I don't wish the misery a COVID-19 infection can bring on anyone. Also the potential outcome of death.
I find it sad that people jump to unwarranted conclusions as well. The use of the word "irony" does not connote wishing, hoping, rooting, nor desiring such things.
Nor was my comment aimed at you. I should have been clearer. More at the people that celebrated Rush getting cancer. Those are the people that would take glee if the POTUS was stricken with Covid-19.
Tragically, your post on the Brian Kemp miracle in Georgia may have been a little premature. Georgia Verifies Thousands of New COVID-19 Cases With Black Body Bags Skyrocketing Latest Atlanta coronavirus news: 36 new deaths since Sunday evening; toll at 1441 Georgia reports over 400 new coronavirus cases Monday. Here’s a breakdown by county
From the first link: "Georgia confirmed that its covid-19 death toll increased by 1,165 within 24 hours," and the sourced article is referring to the increase in new cases (an article dated May 1st). The one dated May 11th references an increase of only 420 new cases. That seems to be trending in the right direction, no? I still think we need to see more time before the effect can be properly gauged, but I also think FLORIDA and Georgia are doing the right thing by trying it out. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
worldometer reported 4 deaths yesterday, 36 so far today, so where are the rest of them? as of yesterday, they only had 1405 reported total, so what the hell is going on there?
since re-opening on april 24, georgia has had,as of yesterday 11,300 new cases, a average of 665 a day, where are theses numbers coming from?
Wearing a mask sends the signal that a risk exists. Trump has already spiked the ball and doesn't want to project that risk exists.
