My wife wanted some tomato plants so we went over to Joplin Mo to get them at a local hardware store, similar to Lowe's just not near as busy. Everyone was social distancing, masks on most people so that went well. Then we went by Chick Fil A. 4 drive-thru lanes when we pulled in. Just like city said, everyone in masks and gloves. I counted the times I pulled up and it was 12 times to make it around the store and get my order in 11 minutes. They would put the food in trays and carry it to your car. You picked it out of the tray. Amazing, they have to be just setting records every day.

Then we drove over to a small town in Kansas. She wanted Italian food for Mother's Day tomorrow. They are still not opening anything up in terms of in-restaurant dining. So we had to order spaghetti with meat sauce, meatballs, and bread to go for Mother's day dinner tomorrow. They bring it out in big pans with cooking instructions on the pan for cooking tomorrow.

Three states, three different sets of precautions, Missouri, not very much, Oklahoma somewhat relaxed with some restaurants open with restricted seating, and Kansas sitll with full restrictions on restaurants.

He is obviously thinking about the trend, which is moving in the right direction for now. We will see if it keeps up in the longer term, but I’m pretty skeptical.

Sorry about your pup. 18 years is one hell of a run, esp. for a Chihuahua (I think). You must have been a wonderful pet owner. So sorry.

I know that but the phrasing is weird. I would definitely not call today a good day. I'm also skeptical that this trend will keep up but hope like hell it does.

IOW - you're tough enough to suck it up and make it happen for other people. Thank you! Unfortunately, many Americans are just not ready to accept this cultural paradigm.

Depends on where you live I assume. I am on the other end of the state from @citygator and honestly tonight I went to Food Lion and saw 4 people wearing masks because in my city we havent had a death in a month. 1 death per 100,000 people in our metro area. It's basically a non issue. We wear them in our office and in environments where long exposure is going to occur...but basically no one wears them to the store unless the store requires.

There has been no push for masks here and there hasn't needed to be.

Been trying to get delivery from Giant and Harris Teeter, 1 and 2 miles away respectively, since the beginning. No go. Today, Whole Foods delivered for free from Fairfax (I'm in Manassas) and had it here in under two hours. Two things out of stock, otherwise complete order of ~$60. The free delivery only required $35.

Just FYI, in case, like me, you've been struggling to work out grocery delivery/pickup. Obviously this is one place in time, but I was blown away that this worked.

Again, while this makes sense from a containment perspective, I think it ignores the preventative perspective. This might ax sully be the best time for your community to enact these measures as the virus hasn’t yet become a problem.

Perhaps...or it is proof that masks in the grocery store aren't that helpful. The stores have strict guidelines. (One way aisles etc). Maybe those are the measures that actually help. Most settings that contribute to longer exposures (offices like mine) require them.i require my staff to wear them and they are kept from any public facing activity at this time.

Our county went above and beyond the states already pretty tight restrictions.

I think we may be a testament to how it should have been handled.

Small dogs can live forever. My wife got him as a 14 year old birthday present from her parents and she was the one that took care of him through high school, college and well into the real world (married with two kids).

Was a good life lesson for her, and going to do the same for our kids. I don’t get any credit as I am an average dog owner at best. And yeah, 18 years broke the scale in dog years. All the charts I checked stopped at 16 or 17.

Sorry to interrupt, back to C-19 fun.

My wife found a couple secrets for Walmart grocery pick up. Log in right after midnight and just get the minimum to get your foot in the door. Once you seal your spot you can log in later and add to existing orders since orders are often a few days out.

Traced to ONE person. And in the US we don't have anywhere near the amount of contact tracing they have in SK.
