What if the business doesn’t require one and their employees are not wearing one either? There are a few of them around.

This is going to be a person decision for a while. Do what you feel is best for you and your family.

Exec summary, it should really be based on a regional basis. Example within Miami-Dade...

Unfortunately our 18 year old Chihuahua hasn’t been able to walk or eat for 3 days.

Had to euthanize this morning and drive into Brickell from our house 25 mins away in the Gables.

Even within counties it is FAR different. Brickell looked like Manhattan with no one taking it seriously (most residents are in their 20’s and the businesses are closed). Half wearing face masks no social distancing, etc.

Move out to the burbs of Miami-Dade and nobody will let you get within 7 feet of their kids if you have fully PPE. Hard thing to coordinate, but every neighborhood is different. Couldn’t agree more on county or state levels.

As others have pointed out, if you really want to move from place to place you can. Reason 1,001 why this is so difficult.

Still doesn’t answer the simplest question here; why not? What is it that is such a burr in some folk’s saddle? Wear the damn mask in public and let’s get this over with.

Because you can't quarantine a city or hot spot and keep people there if there is a better situation nearby.
When construction sites were closed in Miami Dade many of those workers just came to Naples/Ft Myers to work. Crews from Tampa disbursed into other nearby munis.

Hey, I'm not disagreeing with you, I've been calling for nation-wide efforts since the start. I think what you and others on the opposite end are doing the same thing, wanting local regulations when you like local rules, but wanting higher level regulations when you like those rules. Seems to me neither side cares which level should be making the rules but all about which set of rules you like better.

Still haven’t answered my question about why some people refuse to wear a mask. Is it because of a “you’re not the boss of me” mentality? Sounds like my kids when they were toddlers.

most likely, i think deep down most intelligent people believe they can make rational decisions w/o being told what to do.

Our parents/grandparents sacrificed during the depression and ww2. Trump followers are having a fit because they can’t shop at the mall. When did we become so weak?

I agree. But in this case there are externalities. We had take out last night for the 3rd time from an Indian place in part bc they are ruining a tight ship (something we’ve shared with our friends). We have not ordered anything from our fav Thai place bc we heard they are not running a tight ship.

we all love a weed themed Sammy shop called Cheeba Hut. My wife argued against me & the kids over getting curb side there. My wife’s point being that it’s run by young stoners. So, the fam goes there to have a picnic in the canyon. Not only are they running a tight ship they are the only place I’ve seen with their own masks. That Jamaican Red blunt never tasted so good

I get what you are saying. My comment was about businesses that have employees that don’t wear masks and no requirements for their customers to wear one. There are plenty of people willing to go there.

If half the people wear them will that help enough. I don’t think so.

Then there’s my wife who is very claustrophobic. She’s tried to wear a mask but can’t. She says she feels like she suffocating. She goes grocery shopping and stays away from people best she can and carries Lysol wipes with her. Last time I went to Publix it looked like (guessing) 2 out of 10 customers were wearing masks. All Publix employees were but the store policy is you don’t have to as a customer.

We can debate it until we’re blue in the face. It’s not going to change what’s going on in the outside world.

so you are cool with the 500 dollar speeding ticket you would get going from a county that had a 70mph speed limit on the interstate to one with a 55mph?
