I guess you didn’t go out in Florida on Cinco de Mayo, because just about every Mexican place in Orlando was a long wait for either take out or a table. Mexican place near my house was a 2 hour wait for an outside table. It is much busier out and about in Orlando for sure.

    1. The author has no idea if we have fewer cases. We simply have more positive test results due to a large increase in testing.
    2. The author questions if people will return to work. Of course they will. They need to make a living. The author has likely not missed any checks or had to lock up his/her business.

(I know you are just the messenger...just a couple comments about the article.)

But it does skew it compared to before they opened. See the article above. Georgia has doubled their testing in that short time.

florida has tested about 130,000 in the last 10 days, overall about b2 times as many as georgia.

your hospital doesn't require you to get the flu shot? My wife works with 2 different hospital systems and they both require employees to get flu shots or wear PPE full time

and yet the % dead per confirmed case keeps climbing. one would think that more confirmed cases with those with less sever symptoms would lead to a drop in that number that is now at 5.9%

    Just slightly OT...

The Blue Angels flew through South Florida today as part of the salute to front line workers. They went right over our house in formation at maybe 500'. F'n awesome! I'm a Pensacola native, and I don't get to see them as often as I'd like. Absolutely made my day...

They flew over the Jacksonville metro area too. They passed within a half mile of my house so we got a cool brief show.

I was driving down San Jose and there were a ton of people on the bridge over Goodbys Creek. It took me a minute to figure out what they were all doing.

Got an email yesterday from Holland-America, the cruise ship company that I had booked a cruise to Alaska on. They have canceled ALL cruises for the remainder of 2020.

"While we are beginning to see some positive signs, the point at which we can begin sailing remains uncertain. As such, we have decided to extend our pause of cruise operations and cancel all Alaska, Europe and Canada/New England cruises for 2020. In addition, we will not operate the 79-day Grand Africa Voyage aboard Amsterdam that would have departed on October 3, 2020. Regretfully, this means we must cancel your upcoming voyage."

Ah, so you figure that because some Mexican restaurants in Orlando were crowded on Cinco de Mayo that we are back to our normal level of social interactions? Ok. I guess it's all over then and we can expect a quick return to full employment in Florida and elsewhere. Thank you Republican governors for reopening our economies.

I think this is a fair question. If the outbreak returns, I think a lot of people will not want to be at work. We’ve already seen this.

Here’s some more data showing economic activity is more closely related to the outbreak itself than the rules related to the outbreak.
