For instance World O meter lists 3,930 new cases for NY yesterday, The NYDOH website lists 2,938 new cases for yesterday. Word O Meter is always much higher than the states DOH websites. So are they just misleading on purpose as well or are folks just taking world o meter's numbers as gospel? I myself would lean to the states websites being more accurate.

World o Meters definition of total cases. They are using all cases so not just first time positive.

Where do you see that? Can you quote the text that says it? Because I don't see it.

A case is a single person, regardless of number of times that person tested positive.

another good day. new cases 28,751, almost 4000 lower than any of the past 4 fridays, with around 303,000 tests, more again than the previous 4 fridays. deaths 1,619, again lower than any of the past 4 fridays, all in all, looking positive.

Yes but they count total positive tests from what I can gather. If a person tests positive on 5/1 its counted, if that same person tests positive again on 5/8 its counted in those days numbers although it isn't a new positive case. This is why their numbers seem to always be higher.

If that is the case, the Wordometer text you linked does not specify it. In any case, the difference between the reported Georgia number for today and the linked graphic is much too high to be accounted for by retests of previously positive cases.

Well with Georgia either way we have not seen a large spike so far due to them opening, this is great news be we probably need another week to really see what happens with the up to 14 day incubation period.

man in gainesville has filed a lawsuit against the county for the forced wearing of masks, saying it violates his right to privacy, plus he wants compensation and lawyers fees.county commision should have left it up to the individual, also should not have reduced what the state was allowed on occupancy of non-restaraunt space, but hey, they are smarter than us, just ask them.

What? How does wearing a mask in public violate a person's right to privacy? That's a fail.

True, but I think the 'reopening' is a bit exaggerated. Just because some businesses can reopen doesn't mean they have. And just because a business is now open, doesn't mean anywhere near the same number of customers are going there as before. There is much voluntary social distancing still going on in states that have reopened.

This was always going to be the case. Have to start somewhere, I don't think anybody thought people were just going to run out and get back to normal, you can't anyways with the capacity limitations in places.

Agree. Now we have to show we can do the right thing to keep this under control, otherwise we will force the powers that be to react again.
