The only year i remember getting the flu was the year i missed the vaccine. 2009 i contracted H1n1. The three most miserable weeks of my adult life, including kidney stones and Achilles surgery. That sucked!!

Thanks for sharing that. I saw the video and was a bit dumbfounded, struggling with the potential that he might be correct. That is a very staunchly and thoroughly composed rebuttal. Really appreciate you finding and sharing this.

Context matters. You don't want to be exposed to ebola to strengthen your immune system.

Wendy's old commercial comes back to haunt them: "Where's the Beef?"

    Fast-food giant's top-selling item threatened by shortage

This virus could be a Vegan plot of epic proportions. The beloved Baconator is no longer with us? What next? We have to eat the Soyanator?

I'm hearing the cattle feed lots have do-it-yourself beef kits ready for sale.

Everywhere the GOP lurks now, they are suppressing information. From the elimination of the CDC guidelines to science based decisions. One might ask why the suppression of facts that are critical to life or death decisions that government and individuals have to make. But, the answer is self evident. While Trump is angry he was exposed to COVID 19 by valet. The rest of us are “warriors” to be sent into battle with an invisible enemy and bad information.

Ducey did an about face today and decided not to fire the scientific team. Huge backlash, especially on Facebook.

Hawaii has some crazy quarantine rules about rabies.

Apparently the island is totally 'rabies free'. To keep it that way, they have some insane rules for bringing dogs on vacation there. Basically 5 day quarantine, unless your paperwork or microchip is screwed up, in which case your dog gets to enjoy the entire vacation in quarantine. In short, if you are going to Hawaii on vacation, leave the dog at home LOL.

Go to Hawaii, stay locked in hotel for 14 days. That sounds like a fun vacation.

What the hell are those travelers even thinking? Assuming they flew there, almost as dumb as those that boarded the cruise ships. It boggles the mind. I know one might expect a beach is safe, and I think it is justifiable if you live in an area to be able to walk the nearby beaches. But travel is not going to be a good idea likely for 12 months minimum. Were they in a bubble? How did they not know the situation?

I continue to be astonished at the repeating cycle we see. 1 - experts warn of a problem. 2 - politicians (and followers) mock the problem and the scientist. 3 - problem begins to impact. 4 - Politicians/followers react with shock ("who could have known").5 - experts warn of potential problem..... repeat

When I say "experts" above I mean a huge consensus of scientists/scientific organizations. When I say problem I mean a huge problem - like say a pandemic or humans changing the planet climate.

The combination of ignorance and arrogance toward people who dedicate their lives to studying these issues is stunning. One cannot assume all scientist are liberal or conservative, so the antipathy can only be explained by anti-intellectualism with a coating of willful ignorance smeared on top. Perhaps it is akin to penis envy - call it "brain envy" - that has been exacerbated by the fact that nerds are now so economically advantaged.
