This is why I don't entertain his posts. He forgets it is the media which shines the light into the darkness! Nothing gets my
hackles up more than numbskulls who constantly attack the media.

Yeah, I gotta say, this is a murder and one of the saddest things I've watched in some time. I'd rather focus on positivity during these quarantine times.

Let me rephrase that: some expectation that someone may possibly be shot. I don't know the mindset of the 2 gunmen, but I do know you don't grab your weapons unless you think they're going to be useful.

Saw it pointed out on another site that this is pretty clearly a cell phone rather than a dash cam. The answer to the question why was this person filming would be very interesting to know.

I was wondering the same. Maybe he didn't expect the situation to take a tragically violent turn and originally just wanted video evidence to prove to law enforcement that the truckers were just trying to perform a citizen's arrest. Or maybe he knew his buddies were gonna murder this man and wanted to keep the snuff footage to show to everyone later over a couple of beers.

Unless your children are black and living in a racially charged neighborhood, whatever you or I tell them is irrelevant.

Yep - that's one of the things we might be optimistic about regarding the justice system. It provides the opportunity for informed decisions. You seem to think the victim should have prevented this somehow, but there were antecedents you are not accounting for.

Why not? Is there a right place to protect oneself?

I have said before that I am unfamiliar with Georgia law, so I dont know if this was murder or manslaughter. Honestly I also dont care. Lock these idiots up for 8 years or life doesn't matter to me. Perhaps also take all guns away from the family and prevent the idiots from reproducing.

Comparing the loss of human life to poker, driving a car and investing is lame at best and passing judgement on people before all the facts are out is asinine.

As far as your example of raising a child, I have never once looked at my child while making a decision and said to myself "this must be what it's like in a murder trial".

You're reaching for justification for passing judgement on a case where people are supposed to be innocent before proven guilty.

Since Texas hold'em is your game, what would be the better way to play the game?

In the traditional form where you don't see all the cards and don't have all the information?

    Or

Where everyone plays their cards face up and you have all the information?

It's supposed to be innocent until proven guilty in this country regardless of how damning a 1:11 second video looks.

Let's play heads up $10k a hand, I get to see your cards and you don't get to see my cards until the end.

Don't worry I'll let you do all of the "updating" you need to do on the flop, turn and river....sound fair?

I saw this FB post from a guy running for sheriff in a different county that I thought made some very good points and is worth a read. My dad has been a part of hunting club in Clinch County, Ga, since I was born. I've been with him several times and they hunt with dogs. This post is on point. It's public, so anyone can see it. It's definitely worth a read. I'll stick to the 4 paragraph rule.

    --------

You see, I am from South Georgia myself. I recognized something in the video many people likely will not. When you see a truck parked in the middle of the road with an armed man standing on top of his tool box or in the bed of the truck armed with a gun, it indicates to me, that he is hunting an animal that is running. It is a common technique used to hunt running game in the Georgia flatwoods. It is actually unlawful to even hunt animals in this manner.

Deer hunters in southern Georgia often use dogs to chase deer through the forest until they pop out onto a road, exhausted with limited physical ability and clouded mental ability as they are run to exhaustion before the hunter kills the deer with his gun. The hunter stands on the truck tool box or in the truck bed to obtain a commanding view of the area to easily spot his prey and direct other shooters where the deer is and the optimal time to shoot.

    [...]

In the Zimmerman case, the prosecutors purposefully over charged him with murder. With the facts given in that case I knew immediately that a jury could never find him guilty for murder, the facts didn't match a premeditated act as they could not prove Zimmerman set out to kill Martin before the confontation. Confront, fight, pretend to be a cop, but not kill. Zimmerman did in fact cause the deadly situation that he started then used a firearm to kill. See, Martin also confronted a man with a gun and found himself fighting for his life before he was shot at close quarters. The jury was left without options as they did not have any other charges they could choose from as the prosecution only gave them one option.

In Glynn county Georgia, I am hoping a grand jury is presented with the following charges: Felony Murder under the right circumstances but this is very dependent on what is secretly presented to the grand jury that we can never hear. But at the very least Manslaughter, Aggravated Assault, False Imprisonment, possession of a fire arm during the commission of a crime, terroristic threats and acts and the traffic offenses. Why? A life sentence for murder in Georgia is currently 33 years before parole is considered. These charges I have listed will carry over 60 years that must be served before parole can even be considered (you currently must serve 90% of any crime of violence). See, you have to know how the legal system actually works to make it work for the people.

No one is suggesting that the shooters shouldn't get their day in court. In fact, that's what people are so outraged about -- that these people weren't arrested and required to answer for their actions.

If they choose to go to trial, they're entitled to a fair and impartial jury who will diligently listen to all the evidence and any defenses, and, after being instructed on the law by the Court, decide whether the shooters are guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

    That's how our system works.

Unarmed jogger was chased down by armed civilian people in two vehicles who blocked his path. He attempted to avoid them and was accosted. He met their assault with non-lethal defensive resistance and they used deadly force. They is what the video shows. This is a no brainer. People parsing this out to say, “oh look, it was self defense” because the victim charged forward when the assailants would not let him run away, don’t know anything about law. The video shows a vigilante murder.

Let the doxxing begin. I don't condone this behavior but in this case I don't have much sympathy for this man.

I mean, in this context I don't really have any issue...but I see where you are coming from.
