My biggest problem with that theory is that the people promoting it are the same ones who promoted the last three or four theories that turned out to be false, and are providing the same level of evidence as they did for the previous theories. It could be true, but their support for it carries no weight.
Remember Trump is anti-science he doesn't listen to those guys with all those fancy degrees anyway.....?
There are lots of people behind the scenes really digging into this (IC), not just some right wing tinfoil hat crack pots.
I may be mistaken but I thought at that time US officials were telling people to self quarantine? Like I said I may be wrong.
It may not have been man made but we know the Wuhan lab was studying coronavirus from bats. Just as likely it accidentally got out as it jumped species in a wet market.
Indeed. Some of us keep saying this. Why is all the good news, hidden deep? The top stories are negative and political. Yet when you question it, you are mocked in this board and just shown random numbers which may bot even be all that accurate in real time. Pretty sure the Mayo Clinic uses a little bit of good ol' science in their studies, yet this stuff is buried. CNN and Fox should be scrolling this and telling folks that Salmon, Eggs and Mushrooms are helpful. ...But alas, the POTUS said something dumb and Biden sniffed someone and U of W just changed their predictions for the 2000th time. None of that helps anyone. But reporting news that could actually help us all stay healthy? I guess that does not sell.
There are going to be different requirements in different businesses, and areas. Different opinions mandated by local, county, and state. Now that I’ve got an idea where this is going business wise, I’ll do what I feel comfortable with. If I don’t like how a business is run, requirements to enter, etc., I don’t go. It’s pretty damn simple.
I still don't get why we aren't recommending a targeted isolation. We know who is at the highest risk for bad outcomes. Those are the people who need to minimize their exposure. It doesn't need to be all or nothing.
A targeted approach makes sense. It makes sense that NYC would have different rules than upstate NY, for example. Of course there is the issue of travel within the state and country. Like you said, lots of tough decisions.
This is the CDC recommendation for Phase I: ALL VULNERABLE INDIVIDUALS should continue to shelter in place. Members of households with vulnerable residents should be aware that by returning to work or other environments where distancing is not practical, they could carry the virus back home. Precautions should be taken to isolate from vulnerable residents.
Right. So the media should report that, along with the Mayo study and not tell me if the POTUS got sniffed by Biden today while tweeting about Hillary's email to Fauci.
TY. I haven't seen anyone promoting this. What I see in my area(and its been that way during the lockdown) is tons of elderly out and about. Most of my patients are staying in as much as possible. (A good thing that I still recommend).
I’m not interested in cashing in on anything. Don’t know crap about Costco and don’t care to at the moment. I think businesses in certain areas that require masks to enter will struggle more than those that do not. What is wrong with that thought? Why do you have to make this so contentious? Did I offend you in some way?
They may have done that but was that enough? I don't remember exactly when that started either. The only info I can find is starting on March 12th. They still had to get on other planes, walk through airports in the general public, and then transport themselves home. If you actually wanted to control the spread from these people a mandatory government quarantine for 2 weeks would have done the trick. Self quarantine is a half measure for a serious virus. If there was a plan it wasn't very good as evidenced by scenes like this for Americans returning home:
