If the pattern holds, it should be between 1100-1350. Last Mon was 1383.

If it follows last weeks 11.2% weekly drop, today should be around 1220.

It is pretty easy to see

I agree, many are so set on their political views that they'd rather bend truth to conform to their views rather than bend their views to conform to the truth.

I'm not very happy with our pandemic response, but I'll give credit where credit is due. Trump's China travel ban, however flawed it was, probably saved tens of thousands. I can't really think of another reason why it exploded on our shores later than Europe. I also give him credit for listening to the scientists and extending the national social distancing guidelines. I know it wasn't popular with his base, but he listened and he did it. He could've very well followed the Sweden model. Sweden, BTW, has a population density comparable to Mississippi, the poorest state in the union, but 3 times the death rate from COVID. The kicker is that Sweden's economy is expected to contract MORE over the year than their Scandinavian neighbors which enacted a compulsory lockdown. What a disaster that would've been here, and I'm glad Trump took the political risk to do the right thing.

People with low levels of Vitamin D may be more likely to catch coronavirus and die from COVID-19 infection, study suggests
    • Study compared average vitamin D levels in a country with coronavirus mortality
    • Found a link showing low vitamin D levels are associated with a higher death rate
    • Researchers 'believe they can advise vitamin D supplementation' to protect against the coronavirus
    • Here’s how to help people impacted by Covid-19

    • A preliminary study has found tentative evidence suggesting low levels of vitamin D may make it more likely an individual will die after contracting coronavirus.

The research compared average levels of vitamin D across 20 European countries with COVID-19 infection rate and mortality.

It revealed a convincing correlation where countries with low vitamin D levels were also the countries with highest mortality and COVID-19 infection rates.

The study has not yet been peer-reviewed and scrutinised by other scientists and is unable to prove vitamin D is the reason behind this link.

However, the scientists from Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation Trust and the University of East Anglia write in their study: 'We believe, that we can advise Vitamin D supplementation to protect against SARS-CoV2 infection.'

This finding backs up a separate study which also found vitamin D may improve a person's chance of recovery after contracting the coronavirus.

Not if they're rich. They can then argue that they came for the argument which got out of hand, and a great lawyer can make that work. Then again, it's a dollar store, so it's probably murder 1.

6 straight days of declining numbers and we havent averaged 2000 for the last 10 days or so.

We have yet to hit 1000 today with less than 2 hours so even if it is higher than yesterday, it wont be much and will be almost half of the 2000 number. Today would be 7 straight though I know a bunch of weekend numbers may show up in today's final numbers...but not as of yet.

Another place with interesting results after trying to force people to wear masks. I fail to see the harm in a little societal common courtesy. If social distancing is important, masks are a reasonable safeguard indoors, where it isn't feasible to stay 6 feet apart at all times and anything in the air stays there longer. It's a sad statement on how it only takes a few selfish people to ruin it for everybody.

Oklahoma city immediately dropped its face mask order after residents threatened violence against employees who were enforcing the rule

We don't know yet if they really planned to kill him (murder 1), or just planned to confront him and it escalated from there (murder 2). That's why I say it's an easy murder 2, but yes, they might be able to build a case for murder 1.

But who am I to argue with the Grim Reaper? Admit it - you knew this would happen before it even happened!!!

Criminal lawyers feel free to chime in. Either way these assholes will end up in jail for a long time. Hopefully the woman will too.

That is the opinion of Nassim Taleb, who advised immediate shut down in January:

“We issued our warning that, effectively, you should kill it in the egg,” Taleb told Bloomberg. Governments “did not want to spend pennies in January; now they are going to spend trillions.”

Because the virus came in on the east coast from Italy— Europe. Particularly in New York. They is what the Genome study shows. Since you credit Trump with saving lives my restricting travel of Chinese citizens, do you hold him accountable for the tens of thousands of deaths for failing to quarantine returning Americans and green card holders and allowing non-citizens to travel here?

Thanks for the credit, though I wish I were wrong. But I think you are low with 90-100k. I think we will be closer to double that by the end of this year. Reducing the daily average to 500 or so would represent real progress, but even that number puts us at close to 200k by the end of the year. With states reopening their economies, it will be that much tougher to reduce the number.

Until there is a vaccine there will be new cases and deaths. I expect the number of deaths to be around 250k by the end of the year, still low compared to the Spanish flu but much higher than we are used to. That takes us to one year. Then expect another 125k by summer 2021 for a total of 375K. Of course, we'll know if the 2nd wave in the Fall is as bad as 2nd waves go, so it could be much higher. Expect us to shelter in place several times between now and Christmas. That also means more stimulus each time we do that. The key to lessening the spikes are finding new treatments.

But I have to add, there is a decent chance we may never find a vaccine. If that's the case, we may have to learn to live with the deaths, even getting used to as many as 10,000/day as we go brute force in going with Plan B - herd immunity.
