If he had taken all the reasonable steps and people still died, I wouldn't blame him, he did what he was supposed to do. But he didn't. And I agree that there are some people who wouldn't give him credit if he cured cancer, they would just complain that he took too long.

you also know there is a huge portion of people who, if trump had taken quicker measures to combat this, enforced lockdowns would complain against that, like in michigan, people should think , if it was me making the decisions, what would i do, not openly criticize.

We have it very much under control in this country. The CDC said this on February 26th "Ultimately, we expect we will see community spread in this country. It’s not so much a question of if this will happen anymore but rather more a question of exactly when this will happen and how many people in this country will have severe illness." Meanwhile Kudlow said the virus was contained and was pretty "airtight" the day before.
What are you talking about? Check the reference link in the thread at the top of the page. They are actually slightly left of the WSJ. The chart is actually post #1 by @OaktownGator Links to reference sites. If that site is too far away from neutral to link to then any of the major networks and CNN is too far left and shouldn't be linked to either. And after examining it again, it is closer to neutral than the NY Times and the Washington Post.
Personally I don't link any news sites if possible. I use them for sources and track down the actual quotes. My mistake if I was wrong about yours. The part where they said he was downplaying it and the whole "media star" rubbed me the wrong way (it implies he's doing things for fame).
Oh I’d still be against him overall. I’d be against him as a human being, but if he listened to his advisors instead of firing them and handled this as the experts instructed him to, I’d give him a pass even if there were 5 million deaths. He’s not a doctor, scientist, nor an epidemiologist. I wouldn’t expect him or any president to be fully prepared for this nor pass with flying colors. If the man showed any professionalism, accountability, or humility I think it would go a long way with his perception.

I still think this lands at between 90k and 100K but definitely blowing past the numbers they were posting as you predicted.
The numbers are not dropping. NY/NJ are dropping but deaths are rising elsewhere. It is why we are still avg 2000 a day.
And now they're both going to go to prison for a very long time. That sounds like an easy murder 2 charge.
Excellent point @96Gatorcise! It's one that many miss if focusing too exclusively on top level numbers. Because NY & NJ have been far out ahead in cases and deaths, if their numbers slow a bit, while other locations increase, it may look like things are slowing down, but where they are just shifting. It would be helpful for people to take NY/NJ out of the equation and look at the trends just based on the rest of the country. .
I hope you're right, but I think it's way too optimistic when we're still seeing 12-15k deaths a week, and everyone is jumping all over themselves to reopen quickly. With no definitive downward trend established, I fear we'll continue to oscillate around current levels for the foreseeable future. We could easily have 40-50k more deaths by the end of May.
