    Really, pa?

Laws are *government intervention* and there are a plenty regarding both alcohol and tobacco smoking. In fact, we have a federal agency with both in its name :)

But neither is similar to a new infectious disease in which we have no treatments or immunity. And you bet people are shamed about smoking and drinking. Shaming of people is informal social control that is part of every society. It helps keep order.

A small fraction of how many will die of covid. The number of people murdered per year is also a small fraction of how many will die of covid.

Sorry man. I don't have the energy anymore to debate this over and over again. I simply disagree with your argument.

Largely agree on that. I will add one more thing looking at the model: they appear to be truncating some set of their results. So a projection model estimates a probability distribution for the total number of deaths. However, it looks like they had the bottom end of their probably 95% probability window at 0 deaths going forward. That suggests that the model is having runs in which less than 0 are dying going forward (and way too high of a probability of 0 deaths). Not a huge issue in general, as projection models often contain some amount of nonsensical data (pretty sure that Covid isn't going to start bringing people back to life). However, this could be biasing the point estimate either direction depending on the procedures by which they are truncating.

This whole thing wore me down. It's just repeating the same thing over and over again and getting the same responses from the same people over and over again. I'm mostly just here for the jokes now.

That's awful. What is wrong with him? I guess Trump must have told him masks are for wussies.

funny, here in gainesville you go out and about 75% of the people are w/o masks, yet only 2 deaths so far in alachua county.

Arizona has cancelled school for the rest of the school year. But we start early to and usually end before Labor Day to try and keep students out of school during the hottest of the hot during the summer. Even if schools were allowed to reopen after the stay-at-home order is lifted, it wouldn't be worth it for a few weeks.

What percentage you figure are wearing a mask at Shands? If you go to a hospital or clinic, you wear a mask, if not out of concern for yourself, then at least out of concern for others. Pence apparently has no concern for others. Inexcusable.

Pretty sure being the VP he has been tested multiple times and knows he doesn't have it. However he should of been wearing a mask.

On the other hand you have these reporters reporting on the news with masks on. It's so obvious it's just for show and trying to be PC. Then you have those who drive with one on, lol. To each their own I guess.
