You can dismiss us all as "progies" all you want, but understand that I've been a registered republican for more than 25 years. And I'm on "their" side when it comes to Trump.

Isn't it a fascinating psychological phenomenon of the extremity of people will go not to admit to self that the emperor has no clothes?

Yet Switzerland is still using it and U of Washington just started a study.
There are roughly 80 studies going on.

In other words, It is far from decided.

what proof do you want? these dead never were tested for covid 19, so to say that over the last month 3700 died from it is just not true, if you do not know, do not guess. many i am sure died from covid 19, just as many did not. to lump them all together as covid 19 deaths is,imo wrong

I love when people pull one image from the internet and make it sound like it is the norm.

I've been on the opposite side of most of your posts on this topic, but I agree with you here. Ultimately these are numbers we will never know, so people will manipulate them to advance their interests.

I will leave you with this anecdote that I'll be posting for the 3rd time. I have a close friend that is an anesthesiologist that works in the respiratory part of a Jax hospital. Back in early March they had 3 deaths of elderly patients that tested negative on every test given. They didnt test for Covid because it was post morten and deemed a waste. But she told me she would bet her salary all 3 were Covid. So at the heart of it, the numbers are just that, numbers. They aren't definitive.

I'm with you brother. Though not registered any more, I've voted R in probably 90% of any election I've voted. Local to Federal. But the party has long since left me.

the problem is that everyone is hung up, myself included , on numbers, how many new cases, how many new deaths, how many new recoveries, so, yes, it is important to get them right, again, if you do not 100% know the cause of death, dont put down covid 19.

How do you know? Are you their doctor? What were the symptoms they had? Did the symptoms match COVID19? Was the progression like COViD19 in terms of symptoms and time? Did they develop fevers, dry coughs, shortness of breath with ling infiltrate on X-ray, need respirators and then suffer sever organ failure? Or not. Back up your statement that something else killed them or that the medical professionals who attributed tor cause made it up. Own your claim that it was wrong.

I think I'd be more confident if this thing was being run by Larry the Cable Guy.

Then what cause do you attribute The death to? Pneumonia of an unknown origin? The right wing will go to such great lengths to obfuscate truth

Can coronavirus wipe out influenza with the shut down and social distancing procedures? Seems it’s less contagious than corona so why won’t both be knocked out?

I disagree. It's like any event in a history book. I just looked up deaths from ww2. 70-85 million. That's a 15 million person variance! Adding or subtracting deaths to NYs total shouldn't affect what our policy is tomorrow. The entire point is to prevent deaths.

That would be inconsistent with how we handle death in every other manner and would lead to a drastic undercount of true deaths due to any cause.

At some point in the future, we will have good estimates within a 95% confidence interval. The kicker is that it will be in part because covid wsa listed and/or symptoms of it were listed on death certificates. But you're right, we'll never have a truly definitive number.

It wasn’t a random internet image, it was in the link of the story I quoted, but thanks for the accusation.

again, prove to me they did die from covid 19, without a autopsy you cannot, so stop with the all of them died from covid 19. also, guess what, sometimes doctors are wrong, so to say they would have diagnosed it as covid 19 is again wrong. they were at home, never saw a doctor, so no diagnosis was ever given.

nyc is doing the following. "decedent had no know positive test for covid 19, but covid 19 is listed as cause of death in the cases of the 3700+'" talk about padding the numbers.
