Praying this is a positive sign of some relief. Why an Army Field Hospital for Wuhan Coronavirus Patients Is Closing Up Shop in Seattle The 250-bed facility, for which setup began on March 30, was intended to help Washington state's health care system tend to non Covid-19 patients in the event of a hospital surge. But just three days after announcing the facility was ready to receive patients, officials say they're returning the hospital to the federal government. The action is aimed at helping another state with a more significant need for hospital capacity at this time, according to the Governor's Office. The facility did not see any patients during the time it was slated to operate in Seattle. "We requested this resource before our physical distancing strategies were fully implemented and we had considerable concerns that our hospitals would be overloaded with Covid-19 cases," Inslee said in a press release.
Is there any corroboration for this? Otherwise Facebook post. I had symptoms like that is January but don’t have COVID 19 antibodies
funny, all the negative talk about how DeSantis has handled this, florida is no.2 in the country in number of tests done, must be doing something right.
Yes. I had the antibody test Monday at 9 and they called with results in the afternoon. Negative for the post-virus and negative for active virus antibody. The negative result for the active virus antibody either shows no infection or too early to detect. The "Gold Standard" for active infection is the nasal swab. The test I took was rolled out without FDA approval. It is part of a study. What is disconcerting is that 91 people in South Korea tested positive, recovered, and now are positive again. No one knows if the first test was a false result (seems remote for 91 people) or the immunities are short lived.or the virus has changed form. But, I was sick in January with the symptoms described in that Facebook link. And, the fever came on suddenly, which would explain those people getting on a flight that sick.
Do you have a link? 21st tests/1 mil pop United States Coronavirus: 495,750 Cases and 18,430 Deaths - Worldometer edit: you are using total number of tests. Due to the population it is a small number of tests Fl is testing on the same scale as Montana and Wyoming Fl 21 million pop Montana 1 milllion Wy 579,000
My covid-19 test came back negative. I probably had viral gastrointestinal enteritis. Was running a fever, had diarrhea, nausea and generally felt like hell. Although I didn't have any respiratory symptoms I decided to get tested since 10% of covid cases present with GI rather than respiratory symptoms. Got the test result in less than a day. Feeling a little better. Doctor suggested that I continue to self isolate for a couple of more days since the test occasionally returns a false negative. Should add that the doctor determined that I met the criteria for testing. Wasn't on my volition alone.
well you do have to put forth the effort to actually do the tests, 3rd most populous state or not, and, imo, it looks like he has done that.
We are testing on the same scale as Montana, Wyoming and W Virginia but FL has 20x the population Florida has only tested .78% of its population 21 mil NY has tested 2.15% of its pop. 19.4 mil
The orange area is the NYC and Michigan outbreaks alone. The Blue is the other 48 states. (Since March 31) The blue % is starting to tail off, 4 days in a row. (Total deaths)
Couple that with this chart over the past 4 days (including so far today, and the % and total deaths are dropping off in the 48, but holding steady in the 2 outbreak states.
That is Hart Island. They bury their unclaimed bodies there. Have for a long time. Those bodies may or may not be COVID patients. They have to be unclaimed for two weeks to end up on Hart Island which likely means that that small amount of bodies may just be pre COVID dead that needed to be moved to make room. A tragedy no doubt, but not what some are saying. We are not just dumping COVID bodies in mass graves.
You are correct in pointing out it is not new activity. That’s an important clarification. Thank you. It is an expanded activity that illustrates the impact of COVID-19. I didn’t present it accurately in that respect. Correctly presenting it does support the contention that this isn’t like the flu. The flu doesn’t cause a spike in people interned there.
New model says today will be the peak of deaths in the US, but says we need 50 more days of social distancing to make it hold. Prominent coronavirus model now says today is peak day for new deaths
My brother's mother in law was in a home for dementia patients. She developed a fever, was taken to the hospital, and tested negative. One week later, she fell. She did not have a fever. As a matter of routine was given a chest x-ray, which revealed infiltrate. Then, tested positive. She has end stage dementia and is not eating.
The current test is about 70% sensitive, I imagine the rapid one when it becomes available will be worse.
