I looked online quickly. No expert so I could be wrong, but it appears he is charging about double the normal price, at least for masks.
If I had to guess, he is importing from China. They have been slammed so politically it’s tough to do that directly, but he is a connected middle man.

Since you are basically quoting me, Are you referring to me as a "Trump defender"?
I have maintained throughout the last 3 years that I do not like him and doubting if I will vote for him again.

My dislike for him does not mean I have to take it to a dishonest level. I praise and criticize based on events, not feelings.
I don't like my governor here in NC politically, but have praised his efforts in this crisis and Hurricane Florence.

Not everyone picks every opinion based on the R or D in front of a persons name.

But to clarify, I was responding to a specific post that seemed to call for American citizens to be left high and dry. Here is that post:
In that post the poster makes no mention of tests or quarantines, just flights.
That poster has since clarified his position which seems pretty valid.

But I was the one that asked if it was legal, but have never...not once...praised the POTUS for banning flights, or frankly anything else.
You have mixed multiple posts by multiple posters together to create a singular narrative that does not exist in this conversation to my knowledge.

I am not sure how Gaterzfan reconciles this comment: Definitely not a Trump fan, but not one of the radical bomb-tossing hate-filled lefties seen far too often, especially on this board.

    with his signature:
Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous, not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.

Because they were not actually non-existent perhaps? My guess...and that is all it is...Is that supplies exist, but the chain of command and procurement was not prepared. I envision warehouses full of this stuff, but the hospitals don't know how to get it and government officials don't have it in a database.

    The system is a cluster.

I see half the people in Costco wearing masks that are likely better then scarfs. If costco shoppers in Wilmington, NC can get them, certainly hospital workers could have had them at some point. Probably a lot of missed opportunity at admin levels at the local hospital level that will need severe review. No one is wanting to call them out during the crisis, but in retrospect some admin will have 'splainin to do.

I wont speak for him, but to me it is pretty easy. There are a few on both sides that are radical bomb throwers.
Doesn't mean we have to return the favor or be vengeful to them.

The scripture in 1 Peter is actually addressing people who disagreed on political and spiritual matters of their day.
The verse fits perfectly, providing we live by it during disagreement.

You have to understand that the bloated admin at those hospitals usually do not have much procurement flexibility. They can't go pull $100k out of an account and pay a vendor they have never done business with before. Those rules should be relaxed but from my limited sample size they have not been. Then you have the whole cya legal issue if any of the supplies from New vendor do not work or meet quality standards

Looks like the death projection has been lowered significantly down to 60,000~. It appears our administration is doing a pretty good job.

Agree 100%. That is a good point. I am just starting to question if we are really in a major shortage (outside of maybe NYC area)...and even then my guess is surpluses are going unnoticed elsewhere that could be helping.

Also a shorter window. The last death is now projected June 13th.

How Will We Know When It’s Time to Reopen the Nation?

    • Hospitals in the state must be able to safely treat all patients requiring hospitalization, without resorting to crisis standards of care.
    • A state needs to be able to test at least everyone who has symptoms.
    • The state is able to conduct monitoring of confirmed cases and contacts.
    • There must be a sustained reduction in cases for at least 14 days.

Testing and contact tracking are the path to getting us back to work and play. As we work through this apex we should be preparing for massive expansion of testing and a huge lift on contact tracing.

What is contact tracing and why is it important?
People in close contact with someone who is infected with a virus, such as the Ebola virus, are at higher risk of becoming infected themselves, and of potentially further infecting others.

Closely watching these contacts after exposure to an infected person will help the contacts to get care and treatment, and will prevent further transmission of the virus.

This monitoring process is called contact tracing, which can be broken down into 3 basic steps:

    • Contact identification: Once someone is confirmed as infected with a virus, contacts are identified by asking about the person’s activities and the activities and roles of the people around them since onset of illness. Contacts can be anyone who has been in contact with an infected person: family members, work colleagues, friends, or health care providers.

    • Contact listing: All persons considered to have contact with the infected person should be listed as contacts. Efforts should be made to identify every listed contact and to inform them of their contact status, what it means, the actions that will follow, and the importance of receiving early care if they develop symptoms. Contacts should also be provided with information about prevention of the disease. In some cases, quarantine or isolation is required for high risk contacts, either at home, or in hospital.

    • Contact follow-up: Regular follow-up should be conducted with all contacts to monitor for symptoms and test for signs of infection.

    Yep:
And less than five minutes later:
    Now you say:
And yet, to defend Trump you had to mischaracterize the post from @pkaib01 as if it was promoting that "we should applaud the WHO...but not the POTUS?"

And the post that you cite from @GatorJMDZ was responding to another Trump defender who wrote that the WHO "told us Trump was wrong for shutting down flights from China." It was the Trump defender that claimed flights from China were shut down. Then you backpedaled and tried to claim that @GatorJMDZ was calling for those flights to be shut down, even though in the context of the posts it is pretty clear that he was not.

The flights weren't really stopped and you don't know why for sure, but you make excuses for Trump by saying it would be a legal issue to actually shut them down. Why wasn't your argument directed to the Trump defender that claimed the flights had been shut down? It would be just as valid and more appropriate there and you wouldn't be so easily confused for a Trump defender.

That you feel defending is the same as praising may be something of a Freudian slip on your part. I just called you a Trump defender which you have done at least twice today, by your own admission.

Funny to see people say death projections are looking better because “our admin is doing a good job”.
When faced with a crisis, trump fumbled a few times before finally just punting to the states.
In case there were a few holdouts, he confirmed he was an idiot and the governors (on both sides), Fauci and Cuomo took charge.

overseas wise, it seems that spain and italy have hit their apex and are on the way down, while france and the UK seem to still be climbing.would like to know how stringent germany, and for that matter portugal were to have such relativlly low numbers, bordering on the other 3 mainland european countriues.
