Very true. It took me three minutes. It took you 30 days. But you did indeed acknowledge you were wrong after banging the wrong drum incessantly for a month. You are correct on that point.
That table was sorted by deaths per million with a gross difference of 2 deaths (dated). Hardly a comprehensive metric for action analysis. Kentucky was lauded vs TN at the time for good reason. In fact since then, TN has accumulated 4x the number of confirmed cases and more deaths (albeit only by 6). TN still has no statewide shelter in place directives. I'm shocked given 400+ cases a day. It's not helping KY that TN's hotspot is Nashville, which is spitting distance from their state line.
Yes, I know I'm such an awful person for being a glass half-full guy. Shame on me for not wanting people to get sick and die.
I think you are somewhat new to this forum. There are many smart people on this board that have different views than I do but still make valid points. There are a couple of idiots that just throw shit out irrespective of facts. I am sure you will figure out who is who pretty quickly. Welcome aboard.
Well.....standby. 100 employee fire dept here had 1 confirmed positive. 2 others sent home with fevers. Seems like it is making its way here.
I don’t think there is a single person on this site rooting for folks to die. I’ll acknowledge I was being an ass throwing the lightning comment in your face if you want to acknowledge that comments you’ve made like that one are similarly only intended to provoke.
See post 4844. @NavyGator93 hit the nail on the head. This is like the insider recruiting board with a political edge. The red in the bacon here is blood. Welcome and thanks for your contributions!
Nobody wants hundreds or thousands of people to die. Everyone was hoping all the dire predictions from the experts were wrong and that somehow, there would be less than 1000 cases here, and one day, quickly, this would all magically disappear. But there's a fine line between hoping for the best while preparing for the worst, and dangerous, full out optimistic ignorance.
I agree with Trump on spending $2T more on infrastructure when this blows over. Boy this press conference is remedial. His overall commentary is about on par with a 7th grader.
Yes it is based on deaths per million population, not hospital capacity. There are so many factors at play that trying to compare numbers at this point is pretty much useless. Give it another couple of weeks and we should have a better idea of what we are looking at. I was actually in Nashville the latter part of February and then off to Memphis to support a local Blues Band participating in the International Blues Challenge. Was probably in 30 different venues packed in like sardines so it would not take too many people in any of those places to infect a large number of people. Louisiana looks to be a real trouble spot. It is catching Florida in cases and has three times the numbers of deaths at 1/5th the population.
New to Too Hot. Navy said, “this board.” GatorGuy is a good poster in the Insider boards except when he disagrees with me. Then he is wrong!
I’m pretty sure he meant new on this board. I have not left the house except to walk the dog for ten days. I’m taking up a new hobby. I’ll try not to break too many things while I’m here.
I know we occasionally disagree over there but for the life of me I can’t remember what you’re always wrong about.
