That you take precautions to reduce the risk in inherently risky activities Seatbelt, helmet, octopus, don't surf/wade fish at dawn/dusk, keep safety on when not prepared to shoot, etc .. same precautions I take when I do activities that involve risk. Just because I choose to take precautions doesn't mean I have to stay on my couch curled up in a fetal position. For this pandemic the precautions are clear yet some refuse to take preventative measures. I can't understand that mentality

Yes, I’m very hopeful that more suburban areas were able to act early, Italy gave us about a 2 week head start. Hopefully that head start keeps us from worst case scenarios.

Yeah I saw that after my post. Spoke with my friend from there, she left the area. She also said there was a marathon that was a Boston Marathon qualifier so there were lots of people from all over in the town. Interesting with Race Week/Bike Week and Spring Break Daytona area hasn't been hit much.

People leave after Bike Week or Spring Break. So they are likely new sources of infection wherever they came from. Though it’s not like locals are immune, maybe it’s just that a very high % of beach goers were from out of town.

But what I mean is if the sick(but asymptomatic) were in town, they mingle with the locals.... and its packed wall to wall close contact. I would think locals would be getting it in greater numbers. Not sure if you have ever seen Main Street during bike week.... It's shoulder to shoulder.
