It must be pretty terrifying if you live there and have vulnerable relatives in the area. I can't imagine.
They had the opportunity to get out in front of it faster than most because of geography and economic connections. But no, they have no special access to information because they are 900 miles away from the outbreak. They just took it very seriously from day 1 while you and, more importantly, our President were talking about how this was nothing or would go away soon.
Continuing to dig through a lot of information but have not found anything indicating the EIDL disqualifies an entity from receiving a PPP Loan. Got into the Employer Retention Credit yesterday. It's a refundable payroll tax credit equal to 50% of "qualifying wages" for a "qualifying company" but not sure how PPP "payroll costs" are impacted or how they impact this credit. This is a refundable tax credit of up to $10K per employee. Fortunately, this is something that doesn't need to be processed, now. Possible another nice "give away" under the CARES Act.
Definitely one of the issues. It also lives a relatively long time on surfaces, has a long period where you are contagious without symptoms, and apparently can hit people and not even cause symptoms at times. Results in a high rate of spread.
Because we have terrible healthcare?? Seriously, perhaps its because we really are testing lots of people who aren't that sick, as opposed to some places where the sickest are getting most of the tests?
Def a liberal hoax. Aircraft carriers are known to be dens of extreme liberalism. Seriously, this is incredible. The CO of a nuclear Aircraft Carrier is asking to take a strategic asset out of service and go to min crew (to run the plant and security). Crazy.
Wuhan Residents Dismiss Official Coronavirus Death Toll: ‘The Incinerators Have Been Working Around the Clock’ Wuhan residents are increasingly skeptical of the Chinese Communist Party’s reported coronavirus death count of approximately 2,500 deaths in the city to date, with most people believing the actual number is at least 40,000.
Tough issue. Do you really need to lock down a small town in the middle of nowhere? There are different approaches by small towns and large cities. This will be the first weekend I wont head to the sticks to hike sadly but Im sure id see a more relaxed environment like the last few weekends. Can see both sides. The pandemic is dividing blue cities from their red states - CNNPolitics
I would say the issue is that there is literally no firewall. I'm a teacher and have never been sick despite 1500 germ machines slobbering all over the building daily. But I have no resistance to this, other than the hope that my immune system fights it off so that I have no or mild symptoms. I confidently stroll into the room everyday knowing that over the course of that day I'll be subjected to any number of infections (colds, flu, etc.) I am apparently lucky, immune system-wise. And typically there are buffers (people who aren't going to pass whatever it is along like a link in a chain) in the room that make direct exposure less likely. But I have zero confidence I could stroll into a room of just a couple of C19 carriers without picking it up. I do have a deviated septum, and pretty much perpetual sinus issues, very mild 95% of the time. I had a "sinus infection" in early February. Now I'm wondering......
Honestly I do now because I have airbags, seen some people get real messed up not wearing seatbelts and airbag deploy. And its a law. I also scuba dive (die real easy there). Surf in the shark bite capital of the world. What's your point?
There must be some reason Albany has been hit so hard. I have a friend who lives there, its very unusual..
