No. It’s worse than that. He needs Michigan too. Take a look at what he’s doing because of “that woman from Michigan.”

Michigan governor says shipments of medical supplies 'canceled' or 'delayed' and sent to federal government

It is an extension of what he did in Ukraine. But now rather than allies, it’s the lives of Americans he puts at risk. But don’t say you weren’t warned.

Now it’s if you aren’t willing to push the narrative that he is not only competent but doing a great job, your citizens will lose federal aid their tax dollars pay for.

Trump says he told Pence not to call governors who aren't 'appreciative' of White House coronavirus efforts

Further Trump’s lies or your citizens die. I’m not sure even Orwell wrote this one up.

Of course, maybe this is why...

Sadly, this is true. Below for a source that even the geniuses who said "this is just a cold", "a hoax", or who apparently couldn't do math, might read:
US COVID-19 deaths double in 2 days, topping 2,000

We can only hope that the isolation measures bend the curve down but I fear New Orleans, Detroit and a few other cities will soon join New York in a nasty situation. Hopefully the damage to nursing/old folks homes is limited.

Trump wants the stimulus checks to bear his signature. SMH.

Trump wants his signature to appear on coronavirus stimulus checks

Someone should just tell him that the vast majority will just be direct deposit and have no signature.

Or maybe he should just sign the checks in $130,000 increments to Michael Cohen for distribution as needed.

My gym closed two weeks ago. I stayed ahead of the game. I hired a personal trainer to show me TRX workouts. I bought the straps and bands and now exercise at home. All you need is a door.

They don’t take up much space, so I take mine when I travel. You’d be surprised how much exercise you can get done with them.

That is why many longtime posters with a conservative bent have left this board and it has devolved into a Trump hatred forum where each poster agrees with each other and tries to one up the rhetoric. Anyone else is treated much like one of Hillary’s deplorables.

Can you define "conservative bent?" As a followup, how it relates to discussions about a national epidemic?

I have observed that facts are appreciated here and misinformation pummeled. Opinions on policy hotly debated. Seems reasonable to me.

Definitely some truth in that. Although I suspect Trump has also just gone so far with some of his ridiculous claims/statements that a number of conservatives tired of trying to defend him, and others wore down after coming up with defenses of Trump's positions just to see him reverse course or deny that he had ever taken the position in the first place.

Anyway, the board has become for conservatives basically what it was for liberals during the 8 years prior to Trump's election. A lot of vitriol toward the POTUS and his supporters. While in my opinion Trump has provided a thousand times the ammunition to his "haters" that Obama did to his, I understand many conservatives see things very differently - as evidenced by Trump's incredibly consistent strong support among Republicans.

Not really. They just couldn’t defend the indefensible world of alternative facts any longer. The posters on here who are the most respected are the ones who exhibit objectivity and context. Sycophants on either side don’t fare well over time.

As to Trump, most Republicans I’m friends with can’t stand him as a human being, either, it’s not just the Dems on this board.

Liberals were in the minority for years here and managed to survive just fine.

Cuomo in his briefing on March 28th said they are now testing for antibodies with a blood test. There was ONE follow-up post by Saltygator that he saw mention of it on Dr Oz but we have gone a day and 7 pages of posts without even talking about probably the most important news to date for pressing forward with the fight against this virus and possibly getting people back to work.
But carry on with the continued hatred for all things Trump instead of refocusing to what this means going forward. Plus there are incredible strides being made toward the vaccine which will happen sooner than later.

The antibody testing is in its initial phases. It's hard to get excited about it now because 1) it'll take a long time before we can test enough people, 2) it'll take a while before we know what titer of antibodies confers immunity, if at all, and 3) generally you can assume in these situations up to 10x infected than confirmed, which only correlates to <0.5% of the population thus far, so those who've recovered will make up a very small portion of the population for at least a few months, if we're lucky.

I’ve been posting and reading GC since 1996. Never before have I seen so much discourse and name calling since Trump was elected. The Obama years don’t even scratch the surface with the name calling a discourse. Look at the numerous warnings, and banning of posters, the news rules that have been introduced.

Way different now than under Obama.

And I admit Trump makes himself an easy target with his crappy tweets, lies, and comments.

    a. plenty of discussions on the benefit of serum testing, including an article I shared last week on Iceland's internal study. Vaccine research has been discussed, too.
    b. even so, your assertion contains both a non sequitur and a gross generalization. I can describe why but, generally speaking, if I have to you would't acknowledge it.

I mean, that doesn’t usually stop him from at least trying to do things he wants to.
