Exactly. My daughter is an ER nurse and I worry about her every day. His not liking to answer certain questions is totally irrelevant to me.

I am in the non-profit sector and in reading the order it seems we would be specifically exempt, but I think our ED may choose to lock down anyway. We have a managers meeting Monday to decide what our strategy will be.

    Here is the order:

You don't know the half of it. She has had enough misery in her life to fill 10 lives but all she wants to do is take care of others.

Trump says no way will he cancel the Republican convention in Charlotte in August. The RNC didn't even hold primaries in 7 states - I don't think there is much mystery who the nominee will be but the show must go on. Hope we are past this thing by then.

President Donald Trump insisted Thursday there is “no way” he would cancel the Republican National Convention, which is scheduled for August in Charlotte.

The president made that declaration to Fox TV host Sean Hannity. Trump’s comments came as the novel coronavirus continues its spread in the U.S. and around the world.

“We are definitely planning — it’s toward the end of August,” the president told Hannity. “Somebody was asking today, ‘Will you cancel your convention?’ I said no way I’m going to cancel the convention. We’re going to have the convention, it’s going to be incredible. . . I think we’re going to be in great shape.”

The convention is planned for Aug. 24 to 27. As many as 50,000 people from around the world are expected to attend.

Trump does not care at all about your wife or the well being of the burn victims. Or anyone else.

So long as he can lie and convince his supporters or enough independents to vote for him in a few states, they could die as far as he is concerned.

His pressers are designed to hold his base together. What you hear feeds into a narrative pervasive through the Trump wing media (it is no longer the right wing fringe). He parrots what they say and then leads them.

We had months to gear up for this. But, the decision was made to suppress knowledge and information. So, he can lie about it.

From Trump's own mouth when the ship was off California and there were 15 confirmed cases; his said that he wanted the numbers go down. He said nothing about people being sick. Just the numbers.

So long as there wasn't testing, we would hear the arguments, "nobody knows for sure." And we hear that and arguments over numbers. So, guess why testing is so restricted?

And there should not be arguments over numbers. Knowledge is the currency of decision making. Lack of testing and knowledge doesn't excuse Trump. It is his failure.

The problem with Trump's lies is that in the real world, hospitals are being overrun. People are suffering.

Yet, we hear comparisons to the flu and car accidents. But the flu and car accidents do not overrun the health care system every year.

    Yet people still believe him.

I wonder if he has a Yankee to call no matter what disaster hits. A-Rod gets pandemics, Derek Jeter gets volcanic eruptions, Paul O'Neill gets wildfires, and Gary Sheffield gets hurricanes.

Maybe we are taking the wrong precautions, I have said from day one unnecessary travel should have been shut down. Like folks fleeing infected areas, kids going on spring break or even business trips that are not totally essential. This thing spread because people didn't observe some simple measures to begin with. I still think the POTUS has been on top of this, the American people have acted pretty selfish if you ask me. People think oh I can still make that trip, I'm just one person. Multiply that times thousands and that is where we are at.

Looking through this thread and others, you definitely been downplaying the numbers. I go back to the post where you told me if cases top out at 10,000, the other poster (who predicted we'd top out at 1000) would be more correct than the experts who were predicting millions of cases. If cases top out at 10,000?

    Deaths, not cases
