You guys act like I was saying that was the case. I was saying it is not the case, because this is not the flu. We are saying we WISH it was the case because then this would all be just another flu.

Great theory but that doesn't explain us senior citizens with health issues that felt this thing should have been allowed to run it's course with a few common sense precautions.

This doesn’t really make it any better, but maybe Trump took the question as a snarky reminder of his absurd statement last week “everyone who wants a test can get one,” and was offended by it, because he is in fact a thin-skinned child.

It's a matter of infectious disease spread and the scientific understanding of it. This goes well beyond mere common sense, which ain't so common. Just a month or so ago, we had a portion of the public hollerin that this was no big deal, Dems are exaggerating and doing this to hurt the president. There are still people saying this contra health experts and contra evidence of an exponential increase.

No offense but that's why we leave those decisions to the experts. Doctors and nurses shouldn't be put through that sort of hell. God knows they already have it bad enough with the precautions we've taken.

Also, that's why a lot of us young folk shake our heads in dismay when older people make decisions...

Or they are posing questions that contrast with his statements questioning whether New York really needs 30K machines. It takes the 30K out if it.

Do we have enough is a relevant question. It is particularly relevant given his insistence he did not need to use the Defense Production Act to get supplies because they were getting voluntary cooperation from private industry. He was saying that right up until railing at GM today and using what he’s been saying he didn’t need to use all week.

The press asks questions. Government officials answer them. It’s been that way for every administration. It always will be.

In the face of (paraphrasing) “I don’t need to use the powers of the defense production act to get hospitals what they need”, it’s valid to ask if every hospital will have what it needs to keep patients alive.

My wife’s an ICU nurse. My niece is a nurse. My best friend’s wife is a nurse. My son is a hospital pharmacist. I can tell you that folks at all the hospitals they work at are seriously concerned about having what they need to stay safe and keep patients alive.

It’s valid to ask questions that get at that need.

Your wife and niece likely know a different reality than is described in these pressers. The pressers are designed to create a reality for people on the outside.

Frequently he is not answering questions. He’s interrupting questions to get in a talking point rather than listening to the question and thoughtfully replying. You’ve seen

Of course they care about mortgage. My snarkiness in using bonus has been to the idea that we can so easily go back to something normal to achieve herd immunity quicker without sacrificing Granny Hazel and Grandpa Joe to achieve it and "save the economy" As you know there are folks in the media and politics who have basically suggested such a sacrifice and on here

Now that I think about it too, the various comparisons to H1N1, SARs, and HIV needs to be flipped. We dodged a bullet with those pandemics due to specific differences in circumstances that didn't require these extreme measures en masse. We didn't this time.

    Send thanks to your family.
My GF is a 20 yr surgical nurse thats itching to get in and help but they wont let her because she has had cancer(3x) and is considered high risk. They won't even let her do behind the scenes work. Its really upsetting her.

My wife gets one mask a day.

She’s an ICU burn nurse. Because burn patients are extremely susceptible to infection, the burn nurse put on scrubs and go to work and then change into hospital maintained sterile scrubs.

Guess what, now they work in the scrubs the wore from home. Did burn patients all of a sudden not need this extra protection? No. Supplies of all types are being conserved.

The fear in hospitals amongst medical personnel is real. When have we seen any real empathy to that fact from the President? We have not. We hear him complain governors do not appreciate him.

I’m disgusted that he’s more worried about his feelings than my wife’s health, but unsurprised.
