In reading Cuomo's statement he is talking about getting people back to work sooner than later. The "months" part that is being misquoted by Washington propagandist Claude Taylor was Cuomo talking about how long it would take for NY to hopefully get control of the virus but Cuomo states that the economy cannot be shut down that long.

Washington had 11 deaths the 22nd, 9 the 21st, and 8 the 20th. I'm not sure how anyone would see this as peaking or topping in any mathematical sense.

Because we have no idea who is right in all of this, and he is not breaking rules, calling names or insulting.
We don't ban based on opinions. A week ago certain people were acting like their would be death in the streets. Some killed fever for challenging that. Today and yesterday (Outside of NY) we are averaging roughly one death per state. One. Frankly fever has been more right on some of this stuff (aside from the conspiracy theory) then the doom and gloomers that were giving us insane numbers.

Now you and I may feel that the measures taken are the reason. I believe they are. But we simply don't know. We do know the death rate is not really growing outside of a few pockets....at least not yet. Prayers that these new drugs will help and the measures taken will help.

But regardless, Fever has done zero, zip, nada to be banned and has frankly handled a few insults pretty calmly.

Again. Challenge him with facts and data, and let the chips fall where they may.

Not really sure if that's an accurate representation of Cuomo's statement. This is directly from the transcript.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo: We Have To Start Thinking About How We Restart The Economy
It's clear that he was talking about a time frame in months, not weeks. The question was how many months before the economy could be restarted.

Washington has not peaked, though. The number of positive cases has nearly tripled in the last week as testing has increased. Way too soon to make such a determination.

Put it like this. Based only on the trends, this pandemic is heading for a far worse outcome once it's over. When all is said and done, the worst-case scenario might not materialize due to our extreme efforts, but it's still bad right now and getting worse, yet too soon to know where it will end. We have an outbreak of a novel virus where there is no human immunity (other than those who got sick and recovered, but we don't know much about this either) so no herd immunity yet, no antivirals, or vaccines. IOW, the virus is running wild.

A Phoenix area man died and his wife has been hospitalized, not from the Coronavirus, but from taking a chloroquine phosphate tablets they normally use to clean out their fish tank. Not sure if this counts as a COVID-19 death or not, but it shows the danger of the President stating things that are not yet 100% true yet. It's possible chloroquine proves to be an effective treatment. But we don't know yet. It's also important to say that all medications should be taken under the auspices of medical professionals when it comes to COVID-19.

Seems to me if the money in this bill goes to individuals that a good many businesses will be the ultimate recipients of those dollars anyway. Some won't though - at least initially and bars, restaurants, theaters, and tourist destinations and the like won't for a while until it passes.

I just go by passings since NY, WA and NJ started testing everyone asking through a doctor for a while. I heard NY was going to stop that over using too much stuff but it may take a while to run through the system. My basis for my guesses is just DD now because of that.

That is really a stupid thing for them to do, but to blame that on the President is really a stretch. Maybe you could blame the Wall Street Journal while you are at it.

I wonder what the hell equivalent dosage would be on something like that, and who knows what other chemicals would be mixed in on a fish tank solution (i'm sure it wasn't "pure" or medical grade, putting aside that it was probably more than 500mg or whatever the dose should have been, 2g is fatal). People are stupid, but it's hard not to draw stuff like this back to the POTUS. He is taking about these particular drugs WAYYYYYY to much. It's insane, it causes both issues like this from people too ignorant to know any better, and issues with people front-running the existing supply chain - such that legitimate prescriptions might not be able to be filled. There is nothing good that comes from the POTUS hyping up "miracle cures". That needs to be done by the medical drug trials people passing on sage advice to the professionals in the field.

Just to be clear. They're going to test those drugs in clinical trials, not for widespread use.

The POTUS keeps hyping it up like it's a miracle cure, like he's hocking snake oil, but it is true other sources have also reported on the potential that it helps. They just don't do it as irresponsibly as the POTUS.

I wonder if these people were at deaths door, or they took it as some type of preventative measure or even when they just first started getting symptoms? Would be pretty tragic if they never even really needed such extreme measures, but ended up killing themselves because of panic or because they were following Trump's twitter.

Any doctor not giving it to their patients now in bad condition are crazy - a FL man just told his Dr. to give it to him after seeing it on TV and recovered after being told he might not make it.

IMO he is talking about the disruption, not a timeline before getting many back to work. There is no way you can shut the economy down for two months and expect there to be an economy afterwards. You better be buying ammo along with that food. You hope this shutdown was sufficient enough to get enough infected and recovered, slow the spread so you can get back to work and wait for the next wave of cases. Hopefully, by then, they will have an antiviral concoction that will manage the resulting cases.

You have a real penchant for false and misleading statements. Trump got ripped on for claiming that the FDA approved it for treating the virus. That was a lie.
