You're def right, experts are not without fault, some many. Science isn't either. But you are sacrificing the critical importance of scientific knowledge at the alter of extreme distrust. I'm afraid it's leading you toward denialism.

I truly hope you take the time and read and watch some of those resources I offered. I will offer one more, an interview with a leading epidemiologist on the team that eradicated smallpox.

I completely agree with intimigator1 on this. I could be wrong but agree in a couple of weeks everything will start returning to normal.

Logic would suggest that as well, yes. Though the incubation period makes this a headscratcher.

I am 10 hours ahead of EST. 2 posts flagged and nothing controversial about either and in fact are really simple replies. Guess I need to ramp it up a bit? :)

That is not what the trends would suggest. We can hope that--I certainly do--but even if peaks on x date, authorities are saying the pandemic will go on for quite some time given the lack of immunological defense/antivirals/vaccine.

Is this some sort of observation from personal experience? Does a lack make you "grumpy"? No lack of anything here. This lady is disappointed in poorly made 'jokes' that promote or increase divisiveness. And now she is wondering at your motivation in stepping in to make your provocative comment. This reply to will have to suffice as said lady is tired and going to try and reduce her sleep deficit.

    G'night and Be Well, flgator2.

Like the flu it will run it's course. One good thing out of this is more people are washing and cleaning up after themselves.

Trump luckily now seems to know 100% the true motives behind many of these people when it comes to this which is not even going to be the Swine Flu. Hopefully the big Rep Governors and the rest (short of the naive DeWine in Ohio I guess) will stay the course and not go full naive overboard mode like the big Democrat states with these draconian lockdowns. The American people will see what their Governors are doing once we get into April and the Democrats will be exposed for this agenda. FL and TX need to stay strong and resist the pressure especially to show these full lockdowns are nothing but a tactic designed to further the globalists agenda in these western countries. Basic Flu season makes this stuff look like nothing.

Not without sickening and killing a many people. The real fear is that it happens in a crush since we have no defense against it other than halting humans from physically interacting/being in proximity with one another in the extreme.

While I don’t disagree that some skepticism is generally healthy, I wouldn’t categorize any of the above as expert advise. You seem to be confusing bureaucrats and charlatans with actual scientific experts.

I think it’s going to be more like 2-3 months. But I agree that as soon as thing stabilize, most people will declare victory and we will move on with our lives. Even if the reality on the ground doesn’t change a whole lot.

What you don’t realize is that I, my wife and our gang were sitting out on the patio talking, joking, and having some wine, figuring out discussing how we were going to ride this virus out. Some of the stuff we joked about was,,, how SS and Medicare will be saved if enough of of old timers die, we all wish Trump was here to throw us toilet paper, and wait for it, how the red states were getting hit worse than the blue states and that if it keeps up Trump might get re-elected, yada, yada. Those just a few of the “jokes” or kidding. It wasn’t even an original thought of mine because someone else brought it up. I laughed btw.

If you go back and look at my comment, there’s a big space between it and the (jk). I posted it that way for effect, hoping to get a laugh. That’s why I said I should have put it on the joke thread. I considered it but was too lazy.

Sorry if I offended. If you knew me you would know I meant no harm.

As to “young lady” I call most every woman I know that. Up until this point, I’ve never received any blowback from it. If you tell me it can be taken wrong, that’s something I’d consider not doing any more. I do it in my texts to lady friends.

    You stay safe Lacuna.

Once again I apologize if I offended you.

Yep this WHO character and CDC have ulterior motives is my guess. That one DR. is on tape being rational about Swine Flu back then and it was sweeping through a lot worse than this in the US. It sounds like Trump is going to finally address this next Monday looking at his 15 day tweet late last night and then it will be on the Governors if they keep the over-reaction up.

It has taken China 3 months to get a handle on Wuhan. And that was with drastic measures on 50 million and one area.
We have 330 million with half not taking this seriously.
The US is at Basecamp looking up at the peak and it's a six week climb to the top and another 4 back down.

Purely anecdotal but I am seeing a trend on some social media posts by folks who were very recently minimizing covid and spouting the maga talking points about it being a hoax. Some are coming around, expressing concern, and telling others to be safe. To echo a post on here from yesterday, when it hits close to home it changes a person's perspective on it.
