If you actually listened to the Dr. Drew clip, you would know he's not painting himself as an epidemiologist. He is actually screaming for people to listen to Dr. Fauci and other medical experts. But he is a doctor and he's forgotten more about medicine than any reporter in that briefing room has ever known.
I do or will at least make this declaration- I will take a voluntary ban from posting here for a good while if the US comes close to 13k deaths this year from this stuff.
PhD's in medicine? Or were you just looking to score points with a technicality that doesn't offer any validity to the argument?
After watching these noon press conferences several days in a row, I have come to the conclusion that Trump should stand on the side, Pence should give the opening remarks, and then the experts should answer the questions. At the end Trump can say "thanks for coming."
I bet he meant a PhD in journalism. Imagine the lack of objectivity and perceived self-importance you will likely find in someone who spent 7+/- years in journalism school?!
From today's press conference ... WTH ... “What do you say to Americans who are scared, millions who are scared right now?” Alexander asked. “I say that you’re a terrible reporter,” Trump said. “That’s what I say. I think that’s a very nasty question.” “You’re doing sensationalism,” Trump said.
If RIP or anyone else here wants to take a bet now. We can do an avatar bet on who is closer to the death count once this is mostly contained a few months from now in the US?
There is a certain degree of sensationalism to journalism, but none in that question. That one changed my wife's mind on November
Giving Dr. Pinsky the benefit of the doubt he was still saying that he thought there was an overreaction to concern about the coronavirus. Once again, asking intelligent questions is not the same as claiming that one has expertise although in the case of Trump the later seems to be the case.
That's a pretty disgusting thing to bet on and I want no part of that. My opinion is just that this thing is too far gone to be contained and that in major cities we are going to see an Italy like situation (but scaled up due to the size of the population). I am, however, rooting for you to be right.
Well, since the entire press briefing was a communication to all Americans, those who are scared and the rest who are dealing with the threat in a reasonable and rational manner, such a general question is really nonsensical. Now, think Trump could have responded differently but the question was somewhat ridiculous.
Why would anyone want to bet in the hopes this thing kills more than that? I would personally love to see it start going away but the data coming in doesn't support such a belief.
Starting to think with Italy's new death number drop this now that their lockdown must have gave this to a lot of elderly there by their 30 and 40 year old kids living with their parents and grandparents over there giving it to them. At least before those moochers were just dropping in mostly at night to sleep.
So, are you complaining about the measures we are taking to keep the death count as low as possible, while wanting to make a bet that death count will be low to prove you right about the measured being unnecessary? Am I understanding correctly?
To show me I am a tin foil hat poster when I am saying this is overblown nonsense in the US that is just going to destroy the economy for something that will cause less deaths than Swine Flu did.
