https://www.gatorcountry.com/swampg...me-for-gatorntuscaloosa.469371/#post-11753456 personal story of one of our posters who has had an about face as his 32 year old family member is now fighting the virus. Even if it doesn't kill you it is likely to leave one with reduced lung capacity which will increase their challenges later in life
That’s what I don’t get about these keyboard-cowboy posts calling it “just another cold.” Colds suck but people aren’t worrying about extended hospital stays, ICU, ventilators, permanent disability or death.
Off topic: It’s disturbing to get the LinkedIn email of people that have looked at your profile and see the Department of Homeland Security. If you guys don’t hear from me in the future...
I like how you stand up for women attacked on Twitter. I remember how brave you stood for Greta Thunberg against the Republican twitter attacks. Or maybe that wasn’t you.
You noticed that too? It's like some people aren't even reading the posts beyond the poster names anymore.
I’m feeling I need to go back and watch the first few seasons of “The Walking Dead”. You know, just for tips
There is a difference, but I wouldn't discount the significant bias in the media. The extreme polarization we have today didn't just come from people organically deciding they feel differently about the other party than they did a few decades ago. They are informed by the media and pick up on the biases of the media. It's not just that Fox News and Rush and Breitbart lie, it's the bias that they sell that turned the GOP into what it is today. Their twisted view of politics is why we had the Tea Party and movement away from the traditional politicians to these "true conservatives". There was less of that on the left because they didn't embrace that media model until Trump got elected and now they are glued to CNN and have largely changed the models of WaPo and other outlets. People get pissed off about something and the media feeds them more to enrage them because they know that drives repeat traffic. So it's a vicious circle. Long term the effects would seem to be quite bad IMO. It's not like everything is going to go back to normal and we will be sharing hugs with the other side again when Joe Biden gets elected.
Tip #1: Buy guns...and lots of ammo! Tip #2: Most of the people you meet will be bad and harass you for a season, so shoot on sight.
Either that or he has lived thru these panics before. The first panic I remember was Carter's swine flu. The hysteria is greater now but the overreaction pretty much the same.
I think that is reflective of how early we are in this thing. I think the numbers become meaningful in about a week.
