No one has adequate testing, not even SKorea. They had the best testing process but even at best had tested 5400 per 100,000 people.

Keep in mind not even Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Switzerland did well either.

    # cases per million population:

    Italy - 521
    China - 56
    Spain - 298
    Germany - 135
    S Korea - 164
    France - 118
    Switzerland - 355
    Netherlands - 120
    Norway - 286
    Sweden - 128
    Denmark - 182
    Japan - 7

Coronavirus Update (Live): 208,421 Cases and 8,273 Deaths from COVID-19 Virus Outbreak - Worldometer

Sort on the last column. I didn't include the US because we are a large country and just started to ramp up testing. Russia shows low too and I bet they are in the same boat. I'd probably wait another week before I used our number.

Dear lord. Says Muchin isn’t believable on unemployment. Claims his xenophobic nickname is “just accurate” based on some BS about China claiming Americans are the source. And says nothing substantial.

Now it’s the “unseen enemy” that “snuck up on us” despite ignoring it for two months.

Claims an enormous number of vents exist. It’s just total talking out of his rear.

When experts talk it’s actually worth listening to.

Finally, a detail and discussion of the amount by an expert.

Trump just needs to shut up and let them talk.

    No words.

I'm no Trump supporter but it sounded like the unemployment Mnuchin was referring to was temporary and Trump was referring long term.

As for the Chinese claim see the link below from CNN. But to call it that seems like 5th grade playground drama in the middle of a crisis.

And your last statement about Trump letting the experts talk is spot on.

    Just my $.02

According to SK data, 20-30 yr olds are the largest carriers of the virus.

A 63 year old diabetic too. I think being able to afford whatever he needs didn't hurt. My guess is if he wasn't tom Hanks he probably would never have been tested.

Same for Idris Elba. He specifically stated he was asymptomatic but got a test anyway.

The press is such a joke. Of course Trump started calling it the Chinese Virus all the time when they had their official spokespeople start spreading that crap that the US Military brought this stuff to China.

But only through April. A better option for folks is to defer mortgage payments.
No one that is up to date on a mortgage will need a suspended foreclosure in April. It is the people that may miss their next three, or that only have savings for a couple months.

    Deferments is a better solution.

    Most banks offer such options.

No. It’s blatantly racist and harmful for two reasons. 1) it leads his frothy right to blame and discriminate against people of Asian origin. 2) it lulls people into a belief of complacency and immunity from a virus that will kill many more.

The virus doesn’t discriminate. It doesn’t give a damn where you are from. The rhetoric is both harmful and misleading and should have been called out harsher.

Well we still call it the Spanish flu when we think it started in Kansas:) We at least know 100% that the Covid-19 is Chinese in origin. So was SARS.

Imagine you are in the White House press room and we are at a historical crisis point, and THAT is your question.
