You are correct about CNN and I grow weary of the Trumpcasting there. You are not correct that it's the only difference. Fox has a bevy of other agendas, including the vilification of Chinese and the hypocritical accusation that other networks are politicizing the outbreak.
I should have been specific. I was referring to the hoax accusation. But in the limited coverage I have seen Fox did not politicize it, they just reported. But I dont watch much so I am sure different hosts have different agendas. But I mean CNN had a Cuomo with TWO Cuomo's as his guests the other night. I mean that isn't even attempting to be objective. ...but generally I hate them all and only watch during big news cycles.
I don't think any of this was planned or some weird conspiracy. What people are is opportunists. No one wanted this to happen, but their is political gain to be gained and the left is running with it right now. ...the right would do the same.
My nonexpert guesses have no bearing either. The fact is that we are facing a pandemic that requires a much more extensive response and if successful in flattening the curve, this means that numerous lives will be saved and hopefully that the worst burdens on our healthcare system and workers will not be fully realized in getting thias pandemic under control, biding time for a vaccine. Claiming some globalist conspiracy prevents you from seeing this clearly because all you can do is take information that is out there and try to fit it into this preconceived conspiracy.
You can't prove that the numbers went down when they were never up to begin with. You can speculate that you nipped it in the bud, but that's not the same thing. It's like assuming the TSA is the reason everybody's safe at the airports now.
Exactly. This isn't a battle that can be fought with bombs and bullets. If it were, the right would be the ones doing most of the squawking.
You need to stop with that. The conservative people I know are not mouth breathers and uneducated. They don’t follow anyone, much less Trump. Two (husband and wife) are retired IT professionals with lots of education, AJ is a patent attorney. My cousin has his doctorate degree in environmental engineering from UF. He travels the world, designs and installs disposal systems. His wife has two degrees from the university of Alabama (I know) and is high up in the SS administration. These are a few and each and every one of them are or were very successful in their fields. None of them gave covid19 much thought until about a week ago.
Our top infectious disease expert is Dr. Anthony Fauci. He's been head of NIAID since 1984. That is under Reagan and he's been central to every pandemic since that time and he has been ringing the bell furiously. Even if one doesn't think it's a hoax, I think it strains credulity to think this is about political opportunism.
I don't watch any of them, but seeing clips from Fox News on social media, I'm not buying this. Their pundits were trying to downplay it during the period of time that Trump downplayed it. They also were spreading the H1N1 nonsense.
So true And now it’s schools, restaurants, bars, clubs, gyms, numerous businesses. I just don’t think people pay much attention to stuff until it hits home? Really don’t. There’s a saying,,,, “you don’t get thirsty until the well runs dry”
In prisons, before they give you a lethal injection, they swab your arm with alcohol. Carlin one of the greatest ever.
Mutz. Of course it is not "about" political opportunism. But c'mon, if you dont think political opportunists will jump on any opportunity you're crazy, and I know you aren't. And Dr. Fauci is an absolute asset to our nation and has been brutally honest without being overly dramatic.
1. Downplaying it compared to CNN, sure. 2. H1N1 data is not nonsense. 3. We are both better for rarely watching any of it.
