Massive testing. They learned from MERS and SARS which were far worse but thankfully didn't spread as fast. But, and it's important, it ain't over for them. They have spent a massive bulk of their efforts on the cult and everyone they have been in contact with. So there's fear SKorea's numbers are getting ready to shoot through the roof again. They also did not lockdown the nation like everyone else did. People have come and gone without restraint. Keep in mind SKorea has a population of 50,000,000 but so far have tested 270,000 people. It's still a lot considering that's a 5200 tests per million figure and for the US it's 74 tests per million. It even blows away everyone on the planet except for Bahrain who leads the world in # of tests per million.

Dow up today and with Fridays gains and yesterday losses close to where we were at close on Thursday. It is a roller coaster ride for sure.

When the increased testing begins we need to caution that a negative result does not prevent you from catching the virus tomorrow. it just means you weren't positive today. You can't go do stupid stuff and get exposed to it.

1984 was supposed to be a warning, not an instruction booklet.

The first article says they are identifying some unexplained clusters, which happens with transparency and allows determining the source, as opposed to not testing, misleading the public, and ending up in an Italy situation where you have no choice but to massively lock down the entire country on pain of imprisonment.

If....and I leave this out for discussion, that the virus is so easy to transmit to other people, why did nobody that attended the Trump function test positive when being in close contact throughout the evening with a positive person?
Doesnt that bring on the question of why? According to everyone that breathes it appears that if you are near another then you will get the virus. This would debunk the theory being pushed of possible large numbers of carriers walking around aimlessly infecting the world.

How do you know that nobody tested positive? If 2 people were infected by this person then it would fall right inline with the R0.

Meanwhile, in Italy, with lax testing and late action, they are qualifying med students as doctors because they need coats on the ground.

    Wish I could answer Intimigator1 ?

Frankly my biggest concern is that apparently you can have (carry) COVID 19
without knowing and be spreading it around. That's the scariest part to me.

I cancelled family Spring Vacation (I live in Philly) because I have so many
elderly friends and family in Florida that I would be horrified to learn I gave it to one of them. I'm also 60 and a type 2 so it's not like I'm immune myself.

Plus just all the people exposure associated with traveling.
My issues are small when compared to the many Americans in the Entertainment, Food Service / Bar, Transportation industries and the like.

I happen to work in the Construction Industry. Been really slow Monday and Today, our office is small, however we are hoping that existing projects will carry us through until resolution.

There are (OTHER) concerns as well. Viruses MUTATE, I have heard very little about the pathogens ability to mutate, hopefully we will hear more soon. I was encouraged by one epidemiologist whom is an "HIV" expert:

He said that from a vaccine perspective it will be much easier to produce one for COVID 19 as compared to HIV, having said that, the doctor acknowledged that Americans or citizens of other countries should not expect vaccine relief for at least a year.

From reading it probably transmits about the same ways as the flu and will die out in hotter months like the flu as the weather and UV rays destroy the stuff quickly outside. Inside in AC lower humidity environments it can stick around a while and of course if someone has it they could give it to you with close contact.

I am not worried about this stuff at all being 51. If I had older parents still alive I would take extra precautions around them but all my older relatives have passed already.

My mom was going down to central Florida to visit my sisters for her birthday but canceled. She said what's worse than this virus is being stuck in Central Florida with my sisters:) Hehe at 87 and can still crack the jokes.

I hope this proves to be true, but at present, this is purely speculation.
