Presently I’ve been watching on Spectrum TV, a Q&A from the media to the President. He has a very good, very good, Task Force answering many of the questions. It’s been a completely issue with the President. He’s mentioned many conversations with Gov. Cuomo of N.Y. he has had and other Governors too. Again, I think he’s got a good Task Force, can’t remember the names but a lady and a gentleman were very good in answering a lot of questions. And the President too. And certainly how rare it is to have a Media who were being polite and not yelling and yelling and yelling wanting attention and nothing else. I think for the most part they’ve been very good, only about a couple of questions were outright political. And how great was that.
I guess you could, but I'm not sure how that works. It definitely could lead to issues if someone had the flu recently and then got the virus. That to me is a weakened immunity.
I was privy to a (financial) organizational call yesterday (via a source in that organization) that source told me that they were told the US will lock down within 72 hours. (They predicted by Thursday morning)
The president is really trying to change the perception that he underestimated the threat. Pretty surprising there was no follow up from the press. Just days ago he was mocking it, now he said he always knew it a pandemic. I think it’s great the POTUS is now seemingly taking this more seriously, but some of these comments were pretty absurd.
Jan 22: Reporter: "Are there worries about a pandemic at this point?" Trump: "No. Not at all." Feb 26: Trump: "We're going down, not up. We're going substantially down." March 7: Trump: "I'm not concerned at all" Today: Trump: "I've always known this is a real...pandemic"
Somebody who gets a case recently is unlikely to die even if they eventually will. Look a couple of weeks ago at the number of actual cases and you would have more of a sense of the danger. Utilizing people who got symptoms in the last few days and putting them into the denominator is the same mistake that you have been making every step along the way: ignoring exponential growth rates.
Not really true. We are up to 171 diagnosed cases in Louisiana. It was 114 yesterday. 91 the day before that. Exponential growth is happening any place that is testing.
Test. Identify. Isolate. South Korea is showing in real time how a democracy can mitigate COVID19 and save lives.
My wife brought up an interesting question: How does a lockdown affect those that need to walk their dogs (strictly for bodily functions)? I genuinely have no idea. I'm sure you'll still be allowed to but are there regulations as to how far you can walk them? I have a backyard so it wouldn't affect me (although my dogs would be extremely bored if I wasn't allowed to walk them for recreation).

This may be the genesis of the "cure" that has popped up on my FB lately whereby the observations that the virus lives in the sinuses (the coolest part of a human) and that heat will destroy most viruses and ergo you should stick a blowdryer up your nose and inhale deeply. No kidding. There's a DIY YouTube on it. Please don't try this at home.
Yeah my mother in law tried to convince me to do this yesterday. It was so difficult keeping a straight face and explaining to her why this wasn't a good idea.
