I can’t understand what would drive something so short-sighted an inhumane. Fortunately, I don’t believe the current German government is as vindictive or petty as our current WH occupant.
368 people died in Italy......today. Not some 3d world country. The country with the worlds 8th largest GDP. yet some on here still want to be cavalier about this. Or say well, someday we’ll have a worse virus strain to deal with, as if that’s even relevant. Truly inexplicable.
CA closing bars and wineries. Telling those 65 and over to self isolate. NV just closed k-12 until at least April 6.
It seems some are closing around the country but Vegas is still open. COVID-19: MGM closes properties in three states — Las Vegas hotel-casinos will stay open.
yep, but buffets are a thing of the past and shows are being cancelled. Vistorship will likely drop as people from CA and elsewhere stop travelling.
yep. Glad I never got into that. It is sad to see retirees fritter away their life savings playing video poker with a drink in one hand and a cigarette in the other.
Digging around it seems many are around the country but Vegas is still open. Trying to collect every dime before they are forced to close up shop.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/opin...ource=newsletter&wpisrc=nl_personalizedforyou Landing at Dulles Airport, I encountered a case study in how to spread a pandemic ----------- I had thought I was lucky to get one of the last seats home. And I was confident, because Dulles had been identified by the administration as one of the handful of U.S. airports equipped to test arriving passengers and admit or quarantine them accordingly, that I would find a rigorous protocol in place upon arrival. Obviously, the administration would not take such a momentous step without solid preparation.I could not have been more wrong. Upon landing, I spent three hours in a jammed immigration hall trying to decide which analogy fit better: the ignorant Middle Ages during the plague years or the most chaotic airport in the least developed country. The pictures you may have seen only begin to capture the chaos. There was no attempt to enable social distancing; we were packed closely together. Two giant queues of people — one for U.S. citizens and green-card holders and one for foreign nationals — wound their way through the cavernous hall. I counted and came up with approximately 450 people in each section, for a total of just under a thousand. Many were coughing, sneezing and looking unwell.
Brilliant. In your attempts to stop it from spreading, let's make everybody coming into the country sick.
All K-12 schools in Arizona are officially closed until further notice. Most of the larger districts in both Phoenix and Tucson had already announced closures, so it made sense to close them all. My wife works in food manufacturing, so she'll be going to work until she no longer can, but I'l be working from home for the forseeable future.
