    More from Fauci:

Agreed. We should probably do that country wide starting ASAP.

Just because this insipid statement is so annoying, I feel compelled to ask you for some estimates.

Statement under review: The total number of infections is not "way" worse than the official number of 3,244 confirmed cases.

Please provide your estimates for the following questions:

    1. What is considered "way?" (hint: this is your goalpost opportunity)
    2. What is the false negative rate of the test?
    3. How many infected people have requested a test and not received one?
    4. How many symptomatic people haven't requested a test?
    5. How many infected, pre-symptomatic people haven't been tested?
    6. How many people have recovered from COVID-19 without testing?

    Please show your work.

There will be far worse than this virus. This virus the way it is being handled is going to send us down a Depression. I'm hearing they are discussing shutting businesses down for up to 8 weeks. Raise your hand if your business will survive 8 weeks with no revenue and a payroll to pay along with expenses. If they are going to do this they better have a plan to deal with the greatest Depression we've ever seen. I don't know how many small businesses will go under if they have to shutter for 8 weeks but I wouldn't be surprised if at least half go under. At best, unemployment in the mid 20s. I'm not even sure large retailers like Walmart will stay afloat without cutting costs (like employees). The problem is stopping the supply chain and then restarting it. It takes weeks for the machinery to start back up.

It's already way worse than the 1000 total cases you claimed it would top out at.

    This is some dangerous crap

National Enquirer pushes dangerous lie that “coronavirus cures” have been “found” and are “at your fingertips!”

How else could it be handled to avoid this (while still slowing the spread to flatten the curve)?

Do you see what has happened in Italy? It's a lose-lose situation, dude. We have to flatten the curve. If our medical resources become overwhelmed due to spread, the death rate goes way up. I don't know if 8 weeks will happen, though.

No argument from me. Not her call. That has to come down from the owner of the center. Or enough Doc need to stop scheduling boob jobs to effectively close them.

I’ll leave this here. There’s some chatter on the Internet that the German government has confirmed this report is true.

    if so, a new low.
If not, shame on the source.

Germany tries to stop U.S. from luring away firm seeking coronavirus vaccine

“Welt am Sonntag quoted an unidentified German government source as saying Trump was trying to secure the scientists’ work exclusively, and would do anything to get a vaccine for the United States, “but only for the United States.” “

My father is 76 years old and has an elective surgery scheduled for next week in Pensacola that was just canceled for this reason. Sounds like most hospitals are canceling/postponing elective surgeries now.

Hers is a privately owned outpatient center. So either the owner has to make that call, Drs stop scheduling or an order from the state takes care of it.

This is the unfortunate part of dealing with a pandemic. It's going to hurt in numerous ways for quite a long time. But for numerous posts you've played things down. I am sure you mean it earnestly and I don't want to insult you, but your effort is misguided at best.
