BS. UAB is paying 100% of all test in Alabama once people are shown to have symptoms. If they are doing that, I can't think of any hospitals that are going to charge for this.
I hope he is right. I do think there is way more people infected with this stuff than known which will make that death rate come way down eventually.
you really do find the oddest people to quote. This guy falsely claimed he invented email, and had a paper on genetically modified foods that was torn up by al ost everyone. He’s also a Republican running for senate in Massachusetts (again), and has been associated with right wing extremists. So yeah, think we can do better,
Sure, but that also doesn’t mean it should be ignored or allowed to go through the population line Spanish flu or smallpox. I don’t think anyone believes it’s a “world ender” like some sci-fi movie plots play out. But all the data indicates this thing could kill millions globally if the right steps aren’t taken. All those sports cancelling were a prudent thing, even if the athletes themselves have minimal or no risk, the problem is they might continue the spread. Personally I thought just having no fans was a more than sufficient precaution, but I guess the Rudy Gobert thing changed that calculus for all sports. Even if those guys have no personal risk, they would still go back home and likely infect a bunch of people, possibly posing a direct and substantial risk to a parent or grandparent without even knowing it.
There are currently only ten critical cases of the virus in our country right now Coronavirus Update (Live): 134,716 Cases and 4,979 Deaths from COVID-19 Virus Outbreak - Worldometer
this is what’s going to be so frustrating, Italy passed 1000 deaths today, and their numbers are still climbing so we know if left unchecked it can have really bad consequences. If we stem the virus to some degree through all of these voluntary actions and sacrifices, Trump will take credit and mock it, say he was right that it was nothing etc..when it was everyone else doing the hard work and losing money in the process that helped mitigate it, while he hung around on twitter blaming everyone and literally making things up about test kits etc. And the other option is that the government ineptitude helps lead to a similar outbreak here and many are killed.
not to mention seemingly wanting the number of people infected to go up because the death rate will go down, notwithstanding that means more people will have actually died. but hey, anything to make it appear better for the president who has totally effed this thing up
That we are facing a highly contagious novel virus with a projected mortality rate 10x that of the flu. We aren't testing quickly enough and it is likely more widespread than we think. Your opinion won't be swayed so I'm not sure why I even responded. There you have it.
Depends on the the job. With my occupation (appraisal) it's "leave me alone so I can meet your ridiculous turnaround times. Ya get three options: fast, cheap and good. Ya get 2, but you can't have all three or there will be fraud involved". If I have to answer the phone every time it rings, fast is out of the question. Not to mention the danger on the highways and byways of Central Florida (and pretty much everywhere else) of fumbling for the phone with on coming traffic. And for the experienced, sometimes our best work is done at 2 am when you can't sleep because the report is due tomorrow, and you're not being drug down at the break room in the office and having to tolerate ridiculous inter office politic nonsense. At 6 am I can be researching the inspections for the day instead of the get ready for the office rituals, returning emails, submitting reports to the client that makes them look great to their managers because "they are on top of it". Win freaking win. Not DJT style winning where screwing anyone you can. Winning by being economically efficient while maximizing income for all of us.
You are incorrect. My opinion can be swayed when all the negative projections of doom disappear and current facts become a more logical approach. Of course it's more widespread than you think. Probably a lot of people have had the virus and nothing has happened which is obvious but what does it matter? The only thing that matters is cause and effect and the effect is those over 70 years old need to take extra precautions. For the rest of us...get back to life and enjoy what you have because no matter all the hype and hysteria that is promoted there is nothing anyone can do to keep a virus within natures borders. Yes it has spread but so has every other virus known to mankind and the number 1 focus should be on the elderly with prevention and post infection care. By the way, projected mortality rate 10X is absolutely the kind of "facts" that create just the right kind of hysteria because it has no basis whatsoever. You want to change opinions how about looking at the factual trending and real issues without attempting to pull a rabbit out of the hat.
