Matt Gaetz was voted into office by the incredibly brilliant Panhandle voters that for whatever reason will accept "I go to church, praise GOD!" or "abortion is bad" and in Gaetz they accept "I was not drank or interoxicaded cause you knowed the poleece hate God fearing people" as criteria for being a Congressman.

There is just zero thought process in voting as long as Pastor John announces who to vote for. I have voted Democrat in Santa Rosa County and for some strange reason, even though the population is 4x the number as when I lived there, we cannot account for more than 15.74% of the vote. Go figure.

Simply criminal-putting economic numbers for re-election purposes ahead of the health and well being of the most vulnerable folks to this virus. And there’s not one of us who should be surprised by this.

Simple math, not politics, says the more people we test the more cases we will have.

Shame on the CDC for not using the WHO test kits until they had their own, which was mishandled as well.

And shame on POTUS, and Kudlow, and the entire cast of sycophantic idiots for saying this was contained before it really even got here.

One guy in NY has caused 1,000 people to be quarantined. One guy.

How many of him are out there?

Should we over-react? No, if course not. But Jesus, at least deal in facts, and not made up verbal diarrhea crap by POTUS who has “hunches” about death rates and a “natural ability” at science, people are saying.

I think pouring anything down that tube would be instantly fatal.

So, if those of us over 60 get the Covid-19 Coronavirus, we should stay home and watch porn?

If you don't meet risk requirements (travel, exposure to those that have tested positive), you absolutely cannot get tested in Colorado. I know people that are worried and want to get tested but absolutely cannot. They are only able to test 80 people a day here max.

So being as the big concern these days are the numbers and not the facts then I thought it might be interesting to look at the human factor when a virus is announced and the reactions it provides to the world.
What bothers people the most? From what I am seeing it's the numbers of reported infections and not the actual reality of what it does and who really should be the focus. Part of this I blame completely on the worldwide failure to release the demographics of who it is affecting, the age groups of those who died, the actual effects of getting the virus.
Seems that if you want to alleviate fear then give the information. From what I take of the event it appears that the elderly should be the focus due to several factors. 1. Cruise ships. By and large its the elderly that are most likely to be on a cruise ship. 2. By and large the elderly will have underlying reasons for a weakened immune system. This alone would qualify any vaccines to be focused on them first.
Secondly, I see this event as being a minimal physical ailment to those under 60 years old with ridiculously minor effects and is very short term. Incredibly, your odds of getting it or having any issues decreases the younger you are. Bizarre but true for such an evil disease I think.

Billions upon billions of dollars are being funneled to buy facemasks (not sure why since there is nothing proven that they work), to buy cleaning items for airplanes (we should all be very thankful the airlines finally clean a plane properly. *all frequent flyers can verify this need*), and it seriously takes BILLIONS of dollars to use existing laboratories, existing researchers to develop a cure to a virus that is so evil as this one? Seriously? Billions?

Finally, one can only scratch their head with the reactions of people now. Does anybody realize that the common cold, the flu and allergies still exist and strangely enough they all have the same features as this virus. So if you see someone sneezing don't freak out. If you see someone with a fever don't freak out. Its springtime...right about now your local trees and plants are going to scare the crap out of every citizen everywhere because the evil pollen is going to visit and with it comes the coronavirus? Oh no. How can you tell? What will you do? Close everything down? Are you kidding me! Stop life until every single human being is tested for a virus that in reality does nothing other than travel (just like other viruses) or mimic an allergy.

Time for this situation to be ignored or looked at for what it is because humans have shown they are not ready to face the real. A runny nose and a short term cough. That is all. Have a great day and remember....don't touch that door handle.

That's why this virus is way overblown by the media. The flu this year is far worse than this virus because more young, healthy people died to the flu in the US than the coronavirus has killed globally. The Pandemic of 2009 killed more young people than the coronavirus has infected multiplied by 20. Keep in mind in one year from 4/2009 to 4/2010, 68,000,000 Americans came down with H1N1 resulting in 12,000 deaths and it affected healthier people than the elderly. I don't recall people going nuts. In fact, Obama didn't even address the Pandemic until 6 months after it had already killed over 1,000 Americans.

I think the tough Right Wingers could model courage for us on this pandemic by willingly exposing themselves en masse to show that it's no big deal. Starting with the President. That would really be helpful. No doubt the country would be far better off on the back end of the pandemic either way

First of all, this is hardly created by the media when you have national health officials advising older people to stay home.
Second, your claim about Obama is, as others have pointed out, simply false.

PolitiFact - President Obama declared H1N1 a public health emergency before anyone in the United States died
