That is right in the middle of the Doctor Who season finale. Bad timing.

Can’t fault the media and governments raising awareness to improve the control of something that will kill people. Having said that news will hype up anything.

Y2K anyone? Mad cow? Not a new phenomenon.

First, your lack of information reflects only they you are ill informed. Apparently, you have not been following what is going on in other countries of the world. Second, your lack of information does not reflect “a media agenda,” only, again, that you are poorly informed. Third, there is no “media agenda.” China did not shut down major segments of is economy over a “media agenda.” Or a false media agenda. You might want to try educating yourself. Finally, all viruses have a disproportionate effect on the elderly and infirm. So reports of their vulnerability are only part of “a media agenda” to the truly heartless.

The problem with those facts is that they lack context, implying that Obama was somehow negligent.

    Yeah, that’s my feeling.

But I don’t think it’s just reporters doing this or pulling it out of their butts, it’s largely the epidemiology people that have been raising the alarms here, as well as the response to it by the govt of China. Their response was way more than if it were “just” a flu.

I do get, and agree with, the idea that this 2.3% study may be overstating because of the “unknowns”. Hopefully that is the case. Either way it’s alarming, as even 1% fatality rate is some scary shit. I’ve seen reports that for older people it could be 10%. So this is something you definitely don’t want to get.

Yes, but the younger the person the less likely they are to die.

The most prominent healthy 30-something to die from the Coronavirus was the 34 yo doctor that brought it to the world’s attention.

Reading your link didn't exactly convince me that there wasn't some "intervention" by the CCP.

I’m not saying you’re wrong, just that no one knows. Apparently he was being fervently treated by his colleagues that held him in much esteem. Could the national government have done something to sabotage his health? Absolutely. I doubt we’ll ever know though.

As for age groups, you can see how it disproportionately affects the elderly. It’s one reason the infection at the elderly home in WA is concerning.

Trump and his administration have politicized the virus, so it's hard to separate the 2 things now.

    I certainly read and understand
From the article the Congresswoman Chu said “In our response “we can’t create prejudices and harbor anxieties toward one population."

    thank goodness!

this would be highly unsanitary, and surely lead to further spreading of disease.

It's strange to me that you would post the tweet given your media is the most destructive force thread. Do you not see the disconnect?

I've been rereading Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan books. I'm about halfway through Executive Orders. Bad timing.
