China’s update today. Cases up around 25-30 percent in one day, and they are beginning to mention outside help. Haven’t yet taken it, seems like they might be socializing the idea. Confirmed coronavirus cases rise to 7,771 in China, with deaths at 170
I just bought 126 cans of beans, 455 cases of water, and extra ammo. Sealed off all my windows and doors. I’m ready for it. One problem I’ve incurred,,,,, the methane gas is becoming unbearable.
Wow, for obvious reasons, this could be a pivotal development: 7,000 people held on cruise ship after passenger develops suspected coronavirus symptoms 7,000 people held on cruise ship after passenger develops suspected coronavirus symptoms About 6,000 passengers and 1,000 crew aboard Costa Cruises’ Costa Smeralda ship were being held in an Italian port after a passenger from Macau, China, came down with flu-like symptoms on Wednesday night amid the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. Meanwhile, Commerce Secretary Ross says that coronavirus will help bring jobs back to the US. Yay for coronavirus! https://www.washingtonpost.com/busi...-top-table-main_ross-855am:homepage/story-ans
Heard some epidemiologist on the radio today say that they expect the virus to spread across the globe and peak sometime in April / May. They didn't site numbers of infected, just time frame.
No more Mongol hordes to keep those Chinese in check - have to hope for a good ol' epidemic, I suppose.
Well that would be one good thing if true. I do wonder how this will affect the US economy for a while. China will be most affected but should hurt other countries some also.
yeah, cuz trade makes us so poor. Like you, I trade for 99% of the goods & services that I consume, but lets turn trade into a jobs program. If we're lucky, it will spread to Brazil so we can crank up our coffee industry.
Need to see a couple of suppliers in China and Korea, will probably hold off although I am guessing the flights are cheap right now.
We see how NAFTA worked out when you don't have decent worker protections. It allows the big crooked muti-nationals ETC. to screw over the US workers. Great for big business bottom line but not the US worker. The old NAFTA now being eliminated by Trump also had huge loopholes allowing China etc. to use Canada and Mexico to do crooked trade practices on the U.S.
You do realize that workers don't just get put into a box when their shift is over, right? They are consumers too. Under your "logic" we'd be better off if we banned shovels & required all digging be done by spoons. Hey, look how great that economy is, everyone has a job & has to work 80 hours a week. They must be really rich!!
We already have production delays because the government ordered factories shut down and some production material comes from quarantined areas. Also had our outside QA/QC consultant pull out of the country.
Excellent read on the subject for those interested. Not a "recent" publication but is quite topical given current events.
Just now: The husband of an Illinois woman with Wuhan coronavirus is now infected with the illness, and is the first confirmed case of person-to-person transmission of the virus in the United States, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced on Thursday. This virus is a monster, up to a week incubation period before symptoms manifest. A carrier could infect many, many people without knowing. Talk about typhoid Mary……… This will be a world wide pandemic before it's over. Scary stuff fellow Gators.
