He sustained a brain injury among other things. For someone struggling to get on the court as it was, this may finish his career: Hawks' Chandler Parsons Has Potential Career-Ending Injuries from Car Crash
We will see where the truth lies - but the Hawks announced he had a concussion and whiplash. Thats a far cry from this statement sounds a lot like an attorney being an attorney. either way, hope he fully recovers.
Was just about to post this. Wow is all I can say. Hope he fully recovers, though it sounds like some damage is permanent. Poor guy.
Tough deal for CP, hope he recovers quickly. Would not want to be that drunk driver considering CP's earning potential.
We were going to see him when the local Atlanta Gator Club several days ago then got the notice about what happened and the cancellation. Get well CP!
Why was this not reported earlier? The accident occurred Jan 15 (five days ago). Certainly it didn't take five days to diagnose his injuries. Maybe this missed our boards, but I just saw it on the ESPN ticker, so it seems the story is just now reaching the news. At any rate, I wish Chandler the best. He was a GREAT Gator player with a fondness for jazz. I had the pleasure of playing a few times at Leonardo's 706 with him in attendance.
My youngest son played AAU baseball with Chandler about 15 years ago, he's a good kid. Chandler, not my kid LOL.
Per article on ESPN, Chandler also suffered a torn labrum and a herniated disk. If true, those injuries will probably end his season and will be a tough road back. The traumatic brain injury is a little sensational Imo, but this really sucks for Chandler and I wish him a speedy recovery. The law firm Morgan & Morgan, however, said Monday in a statement that Parsons "suffered multiple severe and permanent injuries including a traumatic brain injury, disc herniation and a torn labrum." Was in attendance under the hoop when he hit the miracle shot at NC State! My daughter bought me a ticket for my birthday, she was at NC State. He improved over his years as a Gator, always said the right things when being interviewed! Heal up and do what is right for you and your family. Maybe it’s time to come help coach with the Gators!
That's tough for a guy who has been battling injuries as it is. That said, we don't really know the truth just based on the filing by his attorneys. Also, what is Parsons doing going with glorified ambulance chasers when he has millions at his disposal to hire a real firm?

True, though think if we're talking those dollar amounts it would have to come from the driver's insurance company. I'm guessing a guy who's drunk at 2pm on a Wednesday afternoon, with alcohol in his car, is likely not worth the millions it would take to settle this.
Officially retired. Started out with a promising career, then I believe a knee injury set him back big time, then the wreck ended it. Chandler Parson announces retirement at 33 years old - Sports Illustrated
