Actually I liked chocolate milk as a recovery drink and still used it into my 50's when I was still racing bicycles after training rides and races. That is not to say that I abstained from other pleasures.
LMAO—the chew just stayed on the left side.....my growing up buddy’s(Ray Knight) Dad, Mr. Charlie, chewed Thick Cut Bull of the Woods, and he could hold a chew, eat a ballpark hotdog, and drink a coca-cola without missing a beat....life in the 60’s & 70’s....
I AM IMPRESSED. I couldn't do that. While I pitched it would have been a different meaning of hurling.
Winston’s were in my after game soaking in the tub. Ice cold Bud !! Those red and whites. I moved on to Red Man after college then accelerated to Skoal.. finally I quit it all .. except for col beer.
I would have been more of a Big League Chew man myself if it was around back then. I never liked chaw. And I bet not many girls liked the taste of it either. Now for something that tastes better. My MIL brought me three mangoes the other day because they were $0.50 each and just getting ripe so today was do or die day. Mango salsa FTW. I am going to grill some boneless/skinless chicken breasts sliced in half and lightly pounded and marinaded in a teriyaki/sesame/pineapple sauce to go with it. And either some rice or quinoa as a side. Tomorrow is Memphis style ribs and corn on the cob. I don't know if a friend of ours from the Tampa Bay area will come up or not. If he is coming I will need to get another slab of St Louis cut pork ribs.
Melon with carpaccio and Parma ham, fresh North Sea mussels in white wine sauce, crusty bread with an assortment of soft white cheeses all with Spanish rose and French Bordeaux. In Ghent, Belgium for 6 weeks, having dinner with an old friend of my wife and mine, a retired restaurant owner. And, there are a couple of places in Belgium that do some good stuff with ribs
I ran across this video this morning. Nice reminder that it's not always about the cooking itself.....
2” thick bone-in ribeyes tonight with baked potatoes, and fresh premium Romaine salad topped with vine ripe tomatoes—3 cheese Italian dressing on the side... The Yeti is loaded with MichUltras tonight—gotta love life....
Ribs are smoking with apple wood. Corn on the cob and oven fries to round it out, but that is a few hours out. No CWS today. Normally I would be up to watch the USMNT play in the Concacaf Gold Cup this evening, but the USMNT is a train wreck. It pains me to watch them. The ladies team, however, is looking good. Sorry for the futbol/soccer stuff for those that think I must surrender my Man Card for watching it.
Tonight it’ll be 1” thick bone-in pork chops on the grill (Pat’s Ho-made on the last two turns) with fresh bi-color cob corn joining them. A pot of fresh field peas with snaps and fresh okra will be simmering inside. The ice cold longnecks are doing their part quite well today I might add—
I am braising lamb shanks today. I am wondering where @74nole is getting all of this Pat's Ho-Made. Can you still buy it directly by the case? And I have been imbibing martinis instead of beer. Time to slow down.
Lol—I wish we could buy Pat’s by the case. We don’t have a Publix here so every time we would go to Dothan or Tallahassee we would stop by a Publix and just buy whatever was on the shelf. My time is coming too, I think I’m down to 4-5 bottles....
