Did you go with that word intentionally or was it your inner Freud?

As has been noted, there have been longer threads. I know I have seen threads that have more than a hundred pages and this is page 73. This is the longest POSITIVE thread of which I am aware. This thread is very much indicative of the Diamond Gators forum which is a community far more collegial than the vast majority of sports forums. I am not sure whether it is because baseball is less aggressive than most sports (cue George Carlin) or whether the core group of year round contributors, like yourself, keep things positive and gently deal with the people that drag in negative and nasty attitudes. There is great cooking advice in this thread but it also serves as a touch stone for the whole forum.

This thread and this forum are a nice friendly place to visit. The forum itself has an enormous amount of baseball information presented in an open and positive way.

Now, everybody give yourself a pat on your back for having maintained a place on the interweb that isn't like the rest of it sinking deeper into less and less socially healthy behavior.

Tonight I am making caramelized cabbage with anchovies, sage, and penne. I had half of a head of cabbage to deal with and had everything on hand including fresh sage from the garden.

    Yes.

Baseball is a wonderful game and it takes a fan who can enjoy the ups and downs of it to truly appreciate its beauty. It is not like football where a single loss early in the year can destroy the whole season. Baseball fans are overjoyed with teams that win 60% of the time. Football fans would be calling for the coach to be fired with that kind of season.

And who doesn't like good cooking?

Yes, pork tenderloin. Putting it in my slow cooker late tonight before I go to bed.

There are many ways to cook a pork tenderloin and all of them are good. It is one of my favorite meats to cook. A quick and easy way is to roast it in a 350 F oven slathered in a sesame teriyaki sauce until it just comes up to temp. Lining the roasting pan with aluminum foil is a smart move.

BTW, what I am cooking tonight is based on a NY Times recipe. It says to caramelize the cabbage in 10 to 14 minutes. LOL. It takes about one hour to do it correctly. It is the same problem with recipes with caramelizing onions. You can't do it in 10 minutes. It takes at least 45 minutes and you should do it in butter.

Added in edit: I took 75 minute to caramelize the cabbage tonight.

Wow - this slow cooker pork tenderloin is delicious! I fell asleep early last night but woke back up at 3:30am so put it in my slow cooker then, along with a 1/2 cup of apple juice. It's been cooking for 14 hours! I just shut the cooker down as we are where we want to be. I also added a few dashes of garlic powder around 2pm.

Anyone ever use stainless steel chopsticks? I just added them to my cart on Amazon. 5 pairs for $6.99.

Tonight I’ve got Taco Bean Soup with shredded chicken after it was pressure cooked—garnished with Sargento 4-Mexican fine shredded cheese, sour cream, and freshly cut up jalapeños—and jalapeño cornbread on the side.

The Yeti is stocked with ice cold Pacifico longnecks tonight with plenty of freshly sliced up limes—life is good—

    Leftovers tonight.

My better half wants to know when I am making Memphis style ribs with the new grill. I think that I may have finally gotten her away from wet ribs and liking dry rubbed ribs better. Saturday sounds like a good day for that. I have all of my lawns mowed (our house and our two rental properties) so Saturday is free. They are all about half an acre and I have a self-propelled Craftsman mower that I bought for $25 from a friend leaving town a few years ago so mowing the lawn is a good workout.

I can't wait to smoke some ducks. And a turkey.

    Life is good.

And I really don't care which of the remaining teams win it all in Omaha, but I do have to admit that Vandy wins the prize for the ugliest uniforms. They should start off the game down one for wearing such ugly stuff.

Maybe this is why games only took two hours back in the day. Everybody wanted to get out of their uniforms ASAP.
